I'll probably get ragged on for this one but.. my choice would have to be Internet Explorer. Supports 99.9999999999% of web pages and has alot of good (as well as alot of crap) features.

I use to agree....but after using Mozilla for awhile....IE seems cheap to me now. I mean I've had to use it for afew pages that Mozilla wouldn't even load....but the rest I surf with Mozilla....I LOVE the tabbed interface....and the option to just block all cookies from so and so while letting this one or that through is better then any cookie crunchers I've seen in the past....the find function/java debug ect are all good extras too.....tad slow to load when you first boot but after that it takes up a small ram footprint when compared to IE's need to have many windows open to browse differnet sites/pages.

Edit: MSN8? *Gag*

Opera all the way.

I almost have to use a M$ os, but i dont have to buy it. but that doesnt mean i have to use outlook (A security nightmare) or IE(another nightmare) or any of their other options like msn messenger , Windows Media player .

SO using opera to browse, eudora for email, trillian for im, Zoomplayer for video, WinAmp for audio, and as many other non M$ progs i can use. I vote for Opera.

You miss the point of why people despise IE -- because Microsoft mandates features and sneaks them in and ends up screwing external standards. By making themselves the standards, MS eradicates other platforms (Mac, Linux, etc) and other companies (Opera, etc). Mozilla is much more standards compliant than IE is by a long shot. As a web developer, that's what's important.

I'd have to agree. Internet explorer hasn't failed me and thus I have no reason to change it. I'm satisfied with Internet explorer and besides, I avoid getting too reliant on any shortcuts on my computer as they cause me to thoughtlessly look for them when I'm using a different computer without whatever feature/prog/shortcut I have on my home computer. Hmm..I hope that made some sense...

P.S. Here's my final concept avatar for Moonman...

IE has many loopholes and bugs.....thats one of the reasons I switched....hell the bugs in Outlook alone are insane...add in the fact that you can run a .eml script just by clicking on something with a java call to open a ceratin .eml file on a remote server....and your fucked.

Plus with Mozilla it's easy as hell to grab audio/video streams they try hard as hell to stop you from getting.

BTW: Jared, why haven't you changed yours?! LOL Like the new one?

Been using Crazy Browser since June this year. It saves on screen size, uses tabs, built-in pop up killer, etc. You can even customize the menu bar (add/remove 'File', 'Edit', 'View', 'History', 'Groups', etc.)

I've decided to clear up some space by manually removing some of those unnecessary items on the toolbar and keeping the basics all on the same bar: back, forward, stop, refresh, favs, and address. A lot of other browsers do not let you do this. Crazy Browser is not a completely new browser, however; It needs IE to work.

blury enough for ya?

The thing about I.E. is that it's so integrated in WIndows that I'm reluctant to add another browser. Is Mozilla decently lean? I hate resource-hogging bloatware and am afraid any other browser would just be a pointless drag on my system...

Oh and as far as your Avatar, that's hilariously terrible! :-P

EDIT: Oh yeah, my avatar. I dunno, I dig it's simplicity and I like to keep it the same as it's easier for other people to pick you out when they glance at a forum. Of course for you my view is broadened to look for anything involving anime and underage women. :-P

Mozilla takes a little longer to load....but it makes up for that with all the extras. I mean compare 5 IE windows open hogging space on your task bar to 1 Mozilla window with 5 tabs. In terms of SR's Mozilla takes less in the long run. It has no install file either just unzip and make a shortcut. Around 10mb's for the whole set up.

HAHAHAHA.....I like my new "flame-tas-tic" "THATS SO WRONG" avatar.....I'll change back soon since Krell seems to hate it. I just figured with the advent of the new Harry Potter movie coming out......that I'd get into the spirit and whip up one of my twisted little jokes.

How did I miss the point? This thread is about what you think is the best browser, not about why we all despise Microsoft. Oh and by the way I use Linux as well but I like the compatibility that Microshaft products have and I am perfectly content with Win2k. I think using what you like is important, not what you think the "EVIL EMPIRE!! *scary deep voice*" is doing to you. (Although I do not really despise Micropenis, I fully support the open source movement and hope Microscotum gets some competition.)

Interesting....... but I was looking for something a little more.. moonmanish, I really don't want to be known as the "gay moon" (no offense to any of our homosexual friends out there).

Oh, I dig the fact that it doesn't need to be installed. That's great in itself. I really have started to hate installing stuff that I'm not sure if I'll keep because I know when I uninstall it leaves shit behind. I think I might just check out this "Mozilla" of which you speak.

P.S.
MoonMan: I take it you haven't seen the other concept avatars I've posted around the forums (not counting the commie one). :-P

I use myie2 and love it. I find it

*simple
*cutomizable tool bars
*light weight and quick loading
*includes a built-in pop up stopper
*good looking
*it allows me to use robo form
*DL automatically with Flash Get
*tabbed browsing
*has a built in internet cleaner
*it's skinnable and
*many other functions yet easy to use

I have used Netscape, Opera, and of course IE before. But so far the most comfortable with this one.
