An idea - November 3rd, 2002, 02:52 AM

Yesterday night I got this idea, which could work out as a good way to get rarities: bootlegs, non-holiwood movies and so on so forth.

However I wouldnt like to post it here, as I wouldnt want it to get stolen, if it appears to be a nice idea. So I'm asking someone, preferably ZP staff, to contact me, and have a discussion, if it would work, or if it wouldnt. If it would, then I would probably need some team mates to help me with design, and hosting. I could do coding myself.

It would be something like AudioGalaxy was, just completely legal.

So I await any replies, preferably on ICQ: 14187537.

If what you're proposing is a network specifically for that stuff, SoulSeek is (supposedly) for rare music, although people share all sorts of stuff....Likewise, your network would most likely become filled with stuff that didn't fit your original vision.

It doesnt matter. It wouldnt hurt the network at all. Actually, the very concept of my network would make using it to get mainstream files very inefficient;)

well then what the hell is the point of it if u r trying to make getting more popular file hard to get??? i guess i cant say that it is a worthless idea, as i havnt even heard the idea. but making it hard to find files that are more popular? that just seems stupid. the network will be hard pressed for users, and the rare files will be even rarer. maybe you could PM me with the idea? i promise i wont tell anyone. and u dont have to worry about me stealing it... i can code any better than my dead grandma.

Well, the idea is simple..... to share rare files;)

It was put aside though, as I experience terrible lack of time currently :(

I think you should just post the idea. I mean its recorded here so no one else could claim they thought it up thats assuming someone would want to steal it which it sounds you just want to perfer rare file uploads over common files which isnt anything too new.. But realize popular files are popular for a reason and its to the best interest of the network and to the people using it who want that popular file to get it.

Audiogalaxy is a bad system why because they got sued, lost and failed. So itd be dumb to clone that because any clone would also be likely to face the same fate which is why no major program has cloned the centralized "napster" system for file sharing. Natural Selection at work..
