Do you think OpenNap has what it takes to be the best P2P network? - November 2nd, 2002, 02:10 PM

just wondering what you guys think about the opennap network, and do you think it has the specifications to be a good file sharing network? i for one, like opennap, but it lacks certain stuff i would want out of a filesharing protocol.

people mistake opennap for a filesharing program, it's not, go here for info on the project, http://opennap.sourceforge.net and the continued opennap is available here, http://opennap-ng.sourceforge.net you can use a program like winmx, that connects to opennap, napigator/napster combo to connect to opennap using napster, filenavigator connects to it also. if you want to try out opennap for yourself, grab a client like winmx, type this in to your browser, http://napigator.com/servers pick a server you want, ps, opennap on winmx is kind of complicated, if you want to connect to opennap using a client, go to http://filenavigator.com filenavigator supports the gator:// handle. also, don't confuse napigator with the spyware company gator.

A great man once said, it's better to go forward, cause if you go backwards you may trip, or cause someone to fall.

No I will not fix your computer.

you know you should really give linux a try. you know the funny thing about the l2cache on the old pentium 2 really didnt give me the power to do the multimedia stuff that a guy like me wants to do.
