Need Help. Bought new car MP3 player don't work - April 7th, 2006, 04:45 PM

We bought a new 2006 Ford Escape with an MP3 player. This is not an option. It's part of the standard package. We have MP3s that were made with Roxio 5 a couple years ago. They work fine. However everything we copy using Roxio 7 won't play in the car. They work fine in our stereo cd player, the boombox and on the computer. The dealership says sometimes the lazer goes right through an MP3 and can't read it. One suggestion was to put a glued label on the cd. The owners manual spefically says not to do this. Any ideas on how to fix this without replacing the cd player? Thanks.
