Chris Rock Says Prisoners Have It Too Easy

Chris Rock is disgusted by modern social values, insisting jailed criminals are treated better than those living on the streets. The star claims convicts are privileged to be fed three times a day when the innocent homeless are forced to starve. He says, "We're too nice to our criminals. Prisoners get three meals a day, homeless people don't get anything. That's messed up."

He added, "I think criminals should get one meal a day. Dinner. And not on a tray like normal people. They should put a cow in a courtyard and whatever happens, happens."

Rock is also baffled by authorities who are concerned prisons are becoming overpopulated. He adds, "There's this big fuss about prisons overcrowding. Prison overcrowding? I don't get it. I thought that was the whole idea of prison - a place for prisoners to feel uncomfortable. At my house, we used to sleep four to a bed, but we never tried to hang my dad."

SO how about it, what do we need to do in order to make prisoners less cushy?

Are we spending too much money to incarcerate and not enough on feeding the homeless?

In prison, you get the opportunity to learn a skill or get education, what about offering that to the under privilidged BEFORE they commit crime?

I think prison should be bloody hell. I mean rock chippen nut bustin better off dead kinda prison. PAPPION in a hole on a work camp kinda terrible.

Yep, prison should be akin to going to hell. Maybe we need seperate degrees of hell with the violent offenders being in the hotttest level of the netherworld. Maybe do drug testing on them and such. Somehow they should all be made to work and buy any improvements to the prison and stop using tax dollars to make it easy living.

Thats just it, there is no "Hard Time" in hard time anymore. At most, its an inconvenience. Next prison will be bad for them because they can't drink beer or do drugs. Its like a resort for criminals to gather, sing songs together and gay it up a bit. Alot of criminals have no fear of going to the joint because its better than being out on the street. Besides, when they get out they can get a record deal and some bling bling. Violent criminals shouldn't be able to watch TV and whatnot all day. Make it a little bit bad to be in prison and maybe this society will turn itself around.


I do not feel sorry for anyone who turns to violence to get what they want.

Ive been to jail but not prison. I'm not going to rob, rape or kill anyone so I won't ever be there. If I do any of those, they can go ahead and kill me.

Well speaking as one who has been there I can tell you it ain't no fucking "resort"

And you don't have to rob, rape, or kill anyone to go there.

The number one crime most prisoners are in for is dope.

What Chris Rock is slyly suggesting, is that we treat prisoners better than the homeless, and that is where he wants the homeless to be.

And he said he slept 4 to a bed. At least he got to sleep.

Ive been to jail and there was no butt banging that I remember but I was only there 2 days.


@mygbypooter, as I suggested in my first post, there should be diffferent degrees of prison. Voilent crimes being a whole new level unto itself. Anyone who has harmed or killed another does not deserve one once of comfort. I do not agree with throwing people in jail for drug use. Thats not the way to help them, its only going to make things worse because when they get out its going to cause job problems and perhaps drive them back to doing, or even worse, selling drugs.

Prisons are ""cushy"" becuase our society thinks that 50 years behind bars can somehow provide ""rehabilitation."" (double quoted on both accounts for being horseshit)

I fail to recognize how social rehabilitation can occur outside of society.

If we are expecting to be harsh on those we deem unfit for our society, we need to load them on boats and send them to Cuba.

What did you do to get sent in for only 2 days?
