I have unchecked the "HTTP Proxy" option in LAN settings and IE works fine, but Kazaa and others still don't work.
I don't know either how to change a port number in Kazaa Lite (I can't find such an option). I still need help!!! |

At Kazaa go to :
Tools / Options /Firewall, down there is the Incoming Port, change it to e.g. 1234 and check the box "use port 80 as an alternative". If this won't help, they really have blocked Kazaa traffic by other means : By checkin' it's communications at IP fragment level and put a stopper there at firewall level... I really hope that U get around the problem, because if all da webmasters are becoming to ban whole IP-ranges, we will lose many file shares. (FU mr. have you tried to DL another App other than Kazaa an has it worked? If not there are ways to get around it i like open nap networks as the ports are often not default ports ;) I am sure there are people round that would like another person sharing files on their servers ;)

I haven't found the "use port 80..." in Kazaa Lite (I'll try to download other versions later), but for those who have similar problem: THERE IS A SOLUTION, which was posted many times here (somehow it took me so long to find that):
I've downloaded program called "socks2http" and it has detected HTTP proxy in our local network, then I configured SOCKS5 in Kazaa (Tools/Options/Firewall): in "host" field I entered my internal IP (you can check it using "ipconfig" command at command line prompt), in "port" field typed "1080". After restarting Kazaa: it really started to work!!! I'm not quite sure what I've done, but I'm happy (they say this method slows down the transfer rate, but it's not so bad: about 40kB/s at the moment, which is 2 times slower that before). Thanks for people that tried to help me, and good luck for all the others! |

To the original question of this thread. We propably helped dixonnected a little by finding a way to KaZaA's settings and THKX God ?his/hers? firewall was of type Socks5 ! The older ones are kinkee to set up with kazaa, old HTTP1.0 type may not work at all. So God has Saved The Queen and everyone's happy at this thread now... P.S.
