These are the headphones I use. Pretty good, have an inline volume control, and last a while. Oh, and if youre going for the larger headphones, these: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...onics&v=glance are some of the best ones you can get for that price. Theyre cup your ear, are a closed design(so they can eliminate some sound from the outside), and for that price, theyre performance is amazing. Not to mention theyre comfortable as hell. |

It's called cold solder joints. The points at where the headphone jack is soldered onto the board inside of the ipod is done with the board being cold, making the joints very brittle. It's also not supported by anything EXCEPT those joints. When the headphone jack is moved over use and time by pulling on the headphone cord, dropping the iPod and having the cold fly out, and even everyday wear and tear, these joints break, and cause limited conntectivity. It's an easy fix with a soldering iron, but considering how much iPods cost, and doing that would void your warranty, try to replace it with your warranty.

sometimes in the headphone jack the connecter can shock the head phones and cause a power surge...thus short ceircuting your headphones, yeah if its still under warrenty might as well get a new one and not bother with getting it fixed.
