Download Speed -

With 3.1 I'm getting 2 to 3k per download. With 2.6 I used to get 30 to 40k all the time. What am I doing wrong? I have a cable modem and I'm using a firewall. It said something about adjusting the outgoing bandwidth throttle. Do I adjust it up or down? Please Help.

Adjust the outgoing (upload) bandwidth...its also caled capping....see what speed works for you...i have a 728/128 DSL, and i find that if i cap uploads at 10k or slightly less, i get decent speeds down

It worked! I average 40k download now. I even reached 200k for a while, d/l from a T1.

Okay,does that mean to put the outgoing to 10,000? What about for the incoming? I have DSL and I only get speeds of 5kbs or lower when I used to get between 20 and 50kbs with 2.6. |
