Question No connection... - October 3rd, 2002, 11:19 AM

Hi guys.

I am trying to get a Linux P2P app. running at my place of work. Of course there is a firewall to climb, but hey - the browser works fine. According to all I know, that ought to indicate, that the P2P should work too, right? No way Jose! And I've tried all P2P apps available for Linux. They never get a connection.

To make matters worse, all the Wind-blows based ones works fine with the same setup....

What am I doing wrong here? Is there a Linux-brainiac out there with a suggestion as to where I could look for the possible cause of my problem?

Btw. I'm running Redhat 7.2 with KDE 2.0

Do you know what your linux network settings are? Do you know what ports you have open? Browsers usually use port 80. Gnutella clients don't, I think they default to 6346.
