Disappointment - September 27th, 2002, 03:01 AM

Well, I´ve never really had any problems with Blubster connecting. Using it has been a whole different story, however.
This new Beta still freezes the hell out on me, and I don´t really understand it. How´s it possible that, about 2 minutes after opening Blubster, FreeRAM immediuately warns me that my resources are low? With just Blubster running...
Okay, I have Windows ME and I know this OS is unstable as hell, but I´ve never had a problem with ANY other program (I can even say I´m really happy with ME, would you believe it?). Also, when I start to play some song on Blubster´s player, most of them go into a loop after about one and a hlaf minutes (like a scratched CD).
It really is disappointing, considering how long we´ve waited. When Blubster´s logo contest was announced, I made a post in the news story here at ZP, "warning" that, with all the hype and expectation around this release, Blubster (or Pablo, more exactly) had cornered themselves into a spot where they had the obligation to come up with nothing short of brilliance, at risk causing major disappointments.
I have no doubt Pablo tried his best and we have to be thankful for a program that many ppl feel is the best P2P app out there, but Beta 2 left me deflated. I would have thought that, after so much time in development, the "hogging" problem would be solved.
But maybe that´s just me...

Stupid people shouldn´t breed.

When I use Blubster, I cannot use any other player to play my MP3s. Blubster is using my soundcard and unless I shut Blubster down, I can only use Blubster's internal player. This "official" release has more bugs in it than the "unofficial" release does. Thats sad. This new release hangs and will sometimes even freeze. Uses RAM like you wouldn't believe. A step down from the previous version 1.2.3.

I agree - September 29th, 2002, 03:15 PM

Same here. I have a studdering "freeze up" going on. It will work for a few seconds then not. Then do it over and over. It uses way too much RAM and the player doesn't work right. I am really disappointed with this program. I hope they make some major bug fixes real soon.

It seems as though the developers either no longer care about Blubster or are incompetent programmers.
