Unhappy Dropped Connections--on a DSL! - September 26th, 2002, 09:38 AM

I have a DSL connection on a D-Link system which I share with my sister and her boyfriend. I love to share files on WinMX and KaZaa, 'cuz they have the greatest collections with the most variety. Unfortunately, my DSL actually cuts off with a lot of heavy activity.

Why is this, and is there anything I can download to patch this up and prevent further connections?? :hole

Lightbulb i used to have this problem... - September 26th, 2002, 01:40 PM

that used to happen to me also...i use a Dlink router/hub and it works great for me... are you using a regualr LAN card or are you going through a USB to LAN? try updating the drivers on your card and if that doesnt help go to the Dlink website and download the Firmware for your router... or if all else fails go into your Network properties and tweak the stuff around a bit (try using an automatic IP address and disable/enable DHCP) hope this helps

if all else fails, contact your ISP :devil
