I liked "Brubaker" which was based on real life events at Cummins Prison farm in Arkansas.

Midway's alright.. it uses a lot of stock footage and has a lot of cheesy Charleton Heston saving the day.
Tora Tora Tora is fairly unique as it shows both sides of the attack, using an American and Japanese director respectively. I like war movies, but they almost always show any combatants on the opposite side of the country who produced the film as slimy evil bastards. I prefer to see soldiers portrayed as soldiers, regardless of their nationality. Cases in point: Das Boot, Tora Tora Tora, The Thin Red Line (1998). |
