Next time you find a site you cant access, pop open a dos window (err, start -> run -> "cmd") a black box will open up. Then, type "tracert (website)" for example "tracert www.google.com". If it makes more than 2 hops, it's not your problem, its the problem of your ISP.
Otherwise, try deleting any HOSTS file you may have and try typing in "ipconfig /flushdns" at the command prompt. My security guide @ Zeropaid

ran tracert www.suprnova.org
and got this Unable to resolve target system name www.suprnova.org. and the only uncomented line that the hosts file contains is... 127.0.0.1 localhost which, if I remember correctly was always there.... Any other ideas....? This is starting to really piss me off... |

Okay.. let's see if it's your DNS that's fux0r3d...
Try http://69.50.168.139/sn2//list_news.html - if it gets you to suprnova.. your DNS settings are screwed up somewhere. If it doesn't... hmmm.. I'll try to think of something else. m e t h o d-----...Target aquired: BREIN |

Tried clearing the browser cache...not to mention tried Firefox and IE....tried to ping and tracert...nothing
Cant be ISP because other computers can access the site..... Its not the admin because he checked his settings and I am cleared to do whatever with the internet I want.... ....That is why I'm so puzzled. |

This is gonna sound crazy.. but Netscape (or a hacked/derivative version) might help identify the problem (even just as a temp. install). - I'm not suggesting you change browser.. just it might help find out where the problem is.
I found that I had a problem with comms for all programs about 6 months ago... everything that used the Windows API architecture for communications failed!!! - (All p2p apps, IExplorer and anything else using standard windows DLLs) For some reason Netscape was the only internet app that worked and with that I managed to download an XP-install and re-installed windows.. (which was the way I finally fixed it!!) -- I could only put it down to Netscape using a different method for connecting that didn't rely on Windows DLLs/API as much as other apps (if at all?!) m e t h o d-----...Target aquired: BREIN |
