Konqueror is a file browser for linux, not an OS. I have used it but it kinda crappy for web browsing (it is sort of like iexplore.exe/explorer.exe under windows doing both file browsing and web browsing, except mozilla firefox does web browsing much better (in linux or windows)

it's a web browser\file explorer for linux; used primarily with the desktop manager, KDE.
[you can use it in other desktop managers, though, [i.e. icewm, xfce, etc.]

I dont like for browsing the web; but its not bad for file exploration in GUI.

Personally, i use mozilla and midnight commander, respectively.
