what do you want to know that you can't figure out? i layed out how to make yourself as anonymouse as you can with waste in a post a few days ago , have you formed your own mesh?

i too am leary to talk to a reporter, this is the 3rd one who is asking ( or maybe all the sameone at the homeland security office). i'd only talk dirrect with indypendent media who could prove their anti-capitalist merits by sharing copyrighted files. the rest are just corperate cogs.

I have used Waste and am familiar with how it works. But I'm not writing a review, I'm writing a story about how people use it, how they form networks. And for that, I need to speak with users.

I understand your mistrust and lack of displeasure with most reporters, and I'll understand if you don't want to speak with me. As I said, I can prove who I am and that I have 10 years of experience. I'm hoping that'll be enough to encourage someone here to talk with me.

My opinion is unless you prove you are a file sharer, you will not be trusted. Not being rude, just a statement of fact. That is why i thought it best for you to PM one of the admins first for approval.

I think its pretty self explanatory. Some people use the public network, others form their own groups for various intents and purposes. Friends might use it to connect themselves, hoping to be a little more secure than just using a LAN, say.

I never used it or will ever use it. I dont think anythings a 100 percent anonymous. For the most part, you never know whos behind the computer your downloading from, or if people are caught of infringing. they may get a warrant, arrest somebody, and sit their and wait to you get home to start talking and seeing what you have to share.

Sounds like you want to talk more about how people form private networks with WASTE and not about the content on these networks at all so there is really no reason for anyone to be worried about anything which im assume that if they dont want their full name printed then that wouldnt be a problem.

I dont use waste but hopefully you can someone who does to help you out.

Yes, exactly. I don't need to know what content you're sharing. I just want to know if you think it's a good program, how you get invited on, etc.

I don't think you should limit yourself to WASTE as it is not the most widely used form of 'protecting' privacy. People believe in blocklists that are 'supposed' to protect you from major corporations although this is very questionable. Networks such as Filetopia that use encryption give you 'file' anonymity, meaning your ISP cannot snoop on what files you are uploading/downloading. MUTE is a relatively new system, which uses a proxy-type network to avoid direct connections to users, which is supposed to 'help' make you anonymous. Freenet is the most sophisticated Anonymous P2P system although with the current bandwidth capabilities of most users, it is not very practical. People also use proxies in clients that support them, such as Morpheus, to gain a layer of anonymity when downloading/uploading (although I am not sure if Morpheus supports proxy uploading) You also forget to mention all of the other private networks that are formed that don't use an extra layer of authorization like WASTE does. Private DC networks are very common yet they don't get much discussion on sites like Zeropaid.

Limiting yourself to WASTE is a mistake.

private messages on forums like this one, private messages in p2p programs, email between friends, private invitation via friends etc.
