FREE-Loaders suck LoL!, talk about Free-Loading - August 21st, 2002, 08:12 PM

any of you guys freeloaders? I'm on 56k, and I share 296songs, with only 2 uploads allowed since I'm 56k user, but my friend is a free-loader, and I can't stand it, they don't support p2p they just use it for themselves, I give my friend crap about it, but what do you guys think about free-loading?

freeloaders do suck, especially the kind that put out thier entire collection for everyone to see but then cancel anyone who tries to download.

leeching suks. but no matter what p2p program, u use there are going to be leechers, aka moochers. if your uploading to a leecher, dont cancel the download, first see why they arent sharing, and even if they do leech, let them. maybe they dont understand about sharing, or are not leeching for selfish reasons. sometimes they leech just to see how a program works.
the way i figure, leeching isnt good. you can cancel them. and if they dont get the hint then all well. maybe they are newbies and need help to share there files. or they dont care. they need to realize they are part of a community of filesharing users. one day, they might understand the value of sharing and giving back.
i upload to leechers, because sometimes i am not at my computer. if its a small file or mp3 i dont mind. but if its a big file or something, and i come back to my computer and they are leeching, and i asked why they are not sharing, and i wont get a response from them, then i wait a bit, and figure they arent at there computer. but after awhile i dont receive a response i surely cancel the upload. i mean its good to share, but i like to share with those who share. i am capped on my uploads too, so its not like they have an excuse for not sharing.
share a dam webpage, a gif, a p2p program, anything, make a tutorial on something/.. i am sure some one, anyone or everyone has a talent. so write a poem, anything, but give back to the community its not so hard to share.
and to those leeches, leech on if ya want, but remember that one day, those files wont be available to you anymore, and u will understand the value of sharing.

enuff said, bye bye

I think it's a matter of educating ppl, of making them understand that kind of "hit 'n' run" attitude will shorten the lifespam of that precious resource for information interchange called p2p.

I do understand that, sometimes, that is caused by mere ignorance, I've gotten replies of ppl telling me : "How do I share my files", I guide them step by step and there pops up about 5 gb of mp3's, text files, some images and a couple of games in their shared folder.

I understand 56k'ers but those lame ass excuses comming from broadband users such : "My ISP limits my UL" - then limit your UL bandwith to something you can control like 64kbs or 32kbs. "UL sl0ws d0\/\/n /\/\y DL's d00d3" - then limit your UL bandwith so that it won't hinder Ul's- "I'm on a T3 but having ppl downloading so fast from gives me goosebumps" - .....

If a 1/4 of the kazaa leachers shared 1/2 of what they got, avaliable sources would skyrocket and make things much easier to get for everybody...

in theory I am a freeloader, but in practice I am not. that's because I am too lazy to move the files I downloaded from the share folder to another folder, so that they stay there and everyone can get them. but if I were not so lazy, I would move them, 'cause I don't like spending my bandwidth for uploading. but actually I don't care, if a programme doesn't force me to share. kazaa doesn't enforce sharing, so I have something like 50 mbs in the share folder. but edonkey forces me to share, and I hate being forced to anything, so I cracked the damn thing, set the upload to 0.01. and besides there's no incentive to share to edonkey, you never get anything in return: have been trying to get a file for 4 months now, and still over 60 mbs to go, basically I get 1 mb in 6 hours. on kazaa I get 100 mbs in an hour (average), so what the hell, if I download so much, I don't care that much about uploading

wow...that took a lot of balls to admit--whats your IP so i can ping flood you?

laziness is no excuse jackass--maybe you can't get anything because everyone is on to you and aren't letting your d/l continue

i'm glad shitballs like you can't get into dc--minimum shares are great

dc requires minimal share of 750 mbs to 5 up gbs - that's why nobody uses your shit*ty dc. and now look at fasttrack - 2 mio users and 2 terra bytes of data, although no sharing is enforced. That's why I like fasttrack and that's why I share a little on fasttrack - because nobody forces me to, and because download speed is so great. But I would never share on networks that force me to share.

then its doing its job--minimum shares keep people like you out thank god

look at the "quality" of crap on fasttrack--no rare stuff, tons of fakes, and lots of people like you--do the math

as for dc being shitty, the music hub i frequent has 3 TB of data, between 75 people, and its all real files, no garbage, no fakes, so go ahead and not share on kazza, it doesn't hurt me one bit

hell i saw one guy with 1.4TB of movies HIMSELF!! i just think that that is encouragement enough to share something decent on dc--to get a crack at collections like that--sharing isn't that hard, its easy--set up a folder, a couple of slots and forget about it--that's all there is to it

so what, fakes on kazaa, there are fakes on all p2p clients. if you use sites like http://www.fasttrackmovies.com/ then you won't get a fake
and what do you mean, no rare stuff, I got all music and all movies I ever wanted from fasttrack.

do the math yourself - 2 terrabytes of data on fasttrack, isn't that enough? enough for me, at least. If I get everything I want, I don't care whether it's 2 or 10 terra bytes, the only thing I care about is whether the files I need are there, which is the case
