I was just wondering how many of you out there plan on seeing "THE PASSION OF THE CHRIST" that comes out the 25th of this month. I just saw an ABC special on it, and it looks really interesting. Mel Gibson sure did go out on a limb making this, both career wise and financially, so that is why I was wondering. I also heard it is on the way, if it hasn't already, to selling more advance tickets than any of the Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings films. I want to see it just to see what the hype is about, but I am also Christian-so it interests me even more. I just wanted to see whether or not you guys have any plans on seeing it (I am really more interested in hearing if non-christians plan to see it)?

I would go see it but I've heard that all of the dialogue is in arabic, and I don't want to go to see a movie and spend 3 hours reading it. I'll wait for the english version.
No I am not a Captain & Tenille fan. I just thought it was catchy! |

For some people, religion won't affect whether or not they see it. I don't feel that the poll is quite right.
Organized religion isn't something that is important in my life, so that will not affect whether or not I see this film. I'll probaby see it just because I tend to see most movies anyways. Subtitles don't bother me. Eventually I don't even realize I'm reading. If subtitles were a problem, I'd have missed out on some good stuff. |

There will never be an "english" version. I was raised catholic and I want to see it not because of any religious reason but it looks like it might actually be a very good movie |

Raised in a southern baptist church but I don't trust religious people. Too many wrong things have been done and justified with religion. I just started opening my eyes to the hypocrisy and double standards of religion so I don't have complete knowledge of the wrongdoings but I do know enough not to trust them. I do want to watch the movie to see what all the fuss is about but like Janet Jackson tiddy it's probably a bunch of hoopla over nothing.

Yep, I'm also going to download it. :)
Looks really gritty and raw. I like those kinds of films that just don't let up for the sake of little kids watching. I like that some directors have balls these days and won't bow to standards imposed by fucking stupid ass parent groups and (ironically) Christian funded "decency groups" |

Of course, you still have the total fucking morons out there that say "oh man, I came to see a movie, not to read!" Oh well, you can never win with some of the idiots in this country. |

By The Way I posted my opinion first before I read other peoples opinions to remain neutral and unbiased on what others says. I wanted to stay true to what I said. cheers and now my opinion below lol.
Well sure I am going to see it. I am not Christian. Personally I dont see what the big deal is with this movie. Mel Gibson is just making a movie whoopee fucking doo.. not the end of the world if i dont see it. But mel gibson is a pretty good actor so that is a good reason to see the movie too. I read that its based on some events from the bible. hmmm I cant really give much of an opinion without seeing the movie. However I do know that its based on the bible. I am not going to say that just because Mel made the movie that the events that he will depict in the movie are accurate when in fact they might not be. I just will see the movie. I am not religious and I have read some parts of the bible. This movie might offend other people who are Christian etc. So be forwarned. I think its going to be an interesting movie though. I wanna see it because I like the fact that Mel Gibson has the balls to make a movie he believes in, even if it means others critize his motives for making the movie. Like I said I have to see how the movie starts and ends and surely 3 hours of a movie is pretty long. I will add though that when I do watch a movie I dont care whether someone critique the movie as being bad or good. I feel that I will watch a movie because it might be good when others say its bad. On a side note, I have read an article about this movie and it said that alot of people are pissed off about this movie because of the religious aspect of it. All I have to say is that everyone has the right to there religious practices and that is why I think Mel Gibson has the right to make this movie even while others definitely disagree. peace out :) but remember just because mel gibson depicts this movie the way he perceives it doesnt mean this events occured this way. Surely this will offend other people. I hope that if someone who will see this movie has an open mind about it because this movie is contoversial to people who deem it offensive. I on the other hand think that controversy somethings need to play in its own way because that is how people become open to new things. anyways i cant wait to see this movie, I might learn something new. peace just my opinion *not trying to offend anyone* especially with the religious aspect of it. everyone is entitle to there religious choice and freedom and i will always respect others religions even if i dont believe in there religion. :) |

what the HYPE IS about?? AM i hearing some of you right? Its a bout Jesus dieing for your sins, its one of the most important scriptures in the bible. And I saw Diane Sawyer interview with Mel Gibson, It was his hand that was in the film that was nailing him to the cross.. It was a meant to say that all christians and people nailed him to the cross..
The evil things that was out their was people of all religions, actors, Mel Gibson friends saying not to make the movie. Its the devil that gets into people. Stupid studios wont put up the money cause they didnt think it would turn out a profit from it, Mel knew regardless of profit or not that the film should be done. I plan on going to see it when it comes out. |

IF you believe in Jesus and God then take him as a martyr, who died for a good cause, his greatest words in my opinion are "Treat others as you would treat yourself".
If you do not believe in Jesus, then take him as a philosopher. One thing irrelevant of whether you believe or not is that he died without hurting anyone, unlike the Islamic and unfortunately christians martyrs who died in the name of "GOD", when they put God only as an excuse, to serve their own interests. When all religions in the world agree that you should respect other people's rights. Two wrongs do not make a right. |
