Something is Up with Shareaza - August 12th, 2002, 10:08 AM

Have any of you notice that Shareaza's Creator or who ever that dude is (His nickname is Shareaza) is the only one that has Created a program and has signed up to Zeropaid and his Program is #1 when Alot of people think Kazaa lite Should be #1 and Kazaa lite Creator is not a member of Zeropaid
Isn't that Strange

well...mike actually coded "shareaza" whilst dr. damn just ripped off kazaa. i have a lot more respect for someone who coded something from scratch instead of just removing stuff . don't get me wrong, i enjoy kazaa lite as much as the next guy but you can't fairly compare the two.

that would work 123_kid "IF" dr. damn would have done kazaalite, but he didn’t. he did grokster and a few others. Have you cleaned any clients lately? it should matter who "coded" or "cleaned" anything any program that help the revolution is good. I respect both for at leat taking the time to do it.

Be careful what you say and know all you facts before posting, or you could seriously piss someone off.

I don't trust that. I won't downlaod a program just because it is #1. Those positions are very subjective. Mike has done a good work with Shareaza though, and wether it belongs to the first place or not is not up to me and I really don't care.

now... - August 12th, 2002, 02:37 PM

Im more paranoid than the average bear but this just seems like an overactive imagination or a case of seeing ninjas in the bushes. (that happened to me once, but it wasnt my fault) And besides, shareaza is the coming thing in gnutella, if all the designers ever agree on implementing standard protocols then it would be much ezasier to judge one client against another. or am I just talking out my butt?
And if I ever thought zeropaid was aligned with any creative team I would have to say it was xolox back when... but they were just working together during the new (disappointing unfortunately) release.

Gorphon- I apologize for that release. I actually recieved an e-mail from Jorge telling me to get on this XoloX thing. Then after I got in contact with XoloX I posted that thing about the interview coming. We never "aligned" with them, we were just their #1 source for information. When the new Qube comes out we're going to probably be doing the same.

Wink I know that Matt - August 12th, 2002, 04:32 PM

and didnt mean to suggest otherwise. I just meant to point out that it seemed more likely than some alignment with shareaza. Im more inclined to believethat shareaza is number one right now because it came out of relative nowhere and its many options. And when I said disappointing I was referring to xolox itself, not your announcement. It was hyped no doubt, but so what? that happens. and we were ALL expecting a better client out of xolox, that is what is disappointing.
So.
I apologize for the confusion. :fire

Ya, I know what you meant. I was just explaining that nothing on Zeropaid is "rigged". Everything is done fairly and I agree, Shareaza I guess you could call the p2p messiah. Only because it came out of no where and is jam-packed with features. But I understand what you meant. And in terms of hype, they haven't performed to 1/2 of what they explained to me. I can't say anymore, but hopefully they're still working on it. Heh. -matt

yes, i was wrong about dr. damn. i at leat admitted it ;-). what revolution are you talking about? the communist? green? industrial? as for the question weather i cleaned any clients lately, no, i have not. but i ran adaware cause spyware is evil! spyware sucks! SPYWARE THAT I AGREED TO IN THE LICENSE AGREEMENT IS HORRIBLE! and thank you for reminding me that dr. damn didn't do kazaalite, i guess the third post telling me was the charm, eh? not that i really care but it's the thaught that counts.
