It's no wonder that the courts (and other gov't branches) let cartels like the music industry (with the RIAA as its Godfather) get away with anything ... the courts in our country (which a lot of international courts are based off of) let corporations and celebrities get away with murder ... and I'm not talking about OJ...
Have you heard about the Florida man named Peter Frampton who had his domain, PeterFrampton.com, taken away from him because he shares his name with a washed up rock star from the 70s? Read on: http://slashdot.org/article.pl?sid=02/04/30/2318253 What's next: if your name is the same as a celebrity, you'll be forced to change your name or be pay a fine? :sw |

my opinion on the subject -

I think that the original person should have kept the web site. it seems to me that this first person was using the Web site for his own personal interests and not to make money from the rock star person. I believe a person who registers a web site first in good faith ( not intending registration solely for profit or misinformation) should be able to keep the web site for themselves. I also believe that the organization that monitors registration for Web site should not be business or profit oriented, as this poses a high probability that this organization will put the Interest of profits ahead of achieving justice and maximizing the benefit to society. In addition, I believe that in legal cases, both parties should have legal representation of equal skill because the wealthy will be able to gain leverage over poorer legal parties because they can’t afford more skilled attorneys and research. This case shows that the socioeconomic elite will usually be able to obtain the upper hand in the vast majority of legal disputes
