Morpheus - April 30th, 2002, 08:56 PM

Whenever I use the new Morpheus (which is very rare because of the BDE spyware) the multisource downloading always leaves me with a bizillion partial files and usually never is able to create one ending file. Then all of a sudden, on extended info, it says I'm downloading the file from 5 different people, but on the regular screen it says I'm downloading from no one. Although I can get audio files alright I'm having trouble getting the 600 megabyte movie files with my high speed cable. Any suggestions Matt?

when you say that you have trouble getting 600 meg file, what do you mean, you can't download at all, or you download the whole file but sort of never ends (never regroups)...

Suggestion:
- different gunetalle client perhaps
- try fasttrack network
- wait for morpheus 2.0 release, maybe bug will be fix

BTW, i don't use morpheus

I meant that I get about 80 percent of the file, seperated into a million pieces, and then I get connectivity problems.

BDE came on Fastrak (Kazaa) not Morpheus PE, (but it does have spyware)

Rather than use morpheus pe, why not use gnucleus? Morpheus pe is just an older version of gnucleus (with spyware and their skin). you can even take the partial chunks on your morpheus pe folder and move them to gnucleus partial folder.

BDE had not become an issue yet when PE was released. If you remember it was KaZaA that caught all the flack over BDE after the split between StreamCast and KaZaA\FastTrack...

It was after this that the former Morpheus 1.3.3 users started finding BDE on their computers. It had been there all along, but wasn't doing anything yet.

Some of the people who had switched to Grokster also were finding it and Grokster wasn't including it...

I remember that occasionally people would ask about it on the old MusicCity Discussion Board and I would tell them to go ahead and remove it 'cause it didn't need to be there for Morpheus to work...

This was last winter before we knew what the future plans were for it.
