Office for the Mac... - August 6th, 2003, 09:40 PM

Hi there, I've recently purchased Office for the Mac...and for some reason when i'm trying to install it, it just shuts down when i click the next button on the third screen.

Anyone else experienced this problem?

By the way...

I'm running OSX on top of the MACWINulator in Wine which is running on top of Linux Mandrake 9.1

but that's not the problem, always runs flawlessly.

You could try reinstalling it - August 6th, 2003, 09:47 PM

But i'm not really a Mac user. Macs are for rich folks. eer. It is a MAC you have isn't it.

Or you could try reinstalling linux, wine, macos emulator.

I personally think the problem is with Wine. YOu've drank too much of it!

What the hell?!? - August 6th, 2003, 09:57 PM

So just what the hell are you running?

I assume you're on Apple hardware, since I know you can run mandrake on ppc, but I don't think you can get OS X to run on a x86 (right?)

But you're running wine on mandrake on a ppc? I must be behind things. I thought that was still more into the theoretical. I know there is the MOL project, that will run OS X on top of a linux on a ppc machine, but I don't think it's wine related.

That's as far as my knowledge goes. I'm pretty much baffled as to what your setup is. Could you enlighten me?

Later,

Isamoor

MACWINulator? Gonna have to look into that.

So... - August 6th, 2003, 10:15 PM

I'm at a loss here on trying to find info on running os x through wine on a p4. Could you point me in the right direction? All my searches keep getting stuck on Apple porting OS X to x86, which I doubt will ever happen.

What you describe is very cool and I just wanted to give it a shot.

Thanks,

Isamoor

I think you'd be best to go try some help from these people, they seem to be like you. Kinda crazy and all.

Are you tired of being a member isamoor? If you caught your own mistake, I'm not sure why you left a porn link.

My apologies. - August 6th, 2003, 11:35 PM

I did catch the typo as I said, but I thought it was humerous so I left it. I didn't really think anyone would follow it or I wouldn't have left it. I'll make sure and leave all the porn links off from now on.

I haven't read the rules recenlty so I didn't remember porn being a big problem. I do understand the issue of copyright material and the like, I don't try and post here to get zeropaid in trouble. Generally I'm just trying to help people out or get more info for myself. I suppose it was off topic, but the whole thread was rather off topic.
