SCO Group lawsuit - July 21st, 2003, 12:12 PM

Do you believe the SCO Group lawsuit presents a danger to the open source nature of Linux? I haven't been following the case closely, does anyone know what kind of impact it could have?

The following is an excerpt from the article.
Looks quite scary to me.

Quote:
The company, which is at the heart of a controversial lawsuit over Linux code, said that it plans to offer licenses that will support run-time, binary use of Linux to all companies that use Linux kernel 2.4 versions and later.

i think the people behind sco are complete idiots... they couldn't make any money off of their crappy version of linux, so now they wanna sue ibm for $3 billion and then take control of the licensing of the linux kernel?

where the hell is linus torvalds? he should go up to sco and revoke their ability to use linux, say "linux", or even think about linux.

sco needs to grow up. they do not own linux, and they are not the linux police.

the people at SCO are a bunch of idiots and no one really seems to care what they have to say...apparently, all their threats has done them some good in wall street, since their stock rises whenever they make any threats...there's a lot of fishy business going on at SCO though...check out the articles at OSNews.com or Slashdot for more info... /me kicks SCO for being an _(|)_
