I use the regular BT client.
Tried the Experimental and Burst and BT++, but ended up coming back to the regular client. Its the one I like, small prog that doesn't use much resorces. The other three use a bit more in resorces, IMO. As for the Shareaza beta with BT support.....tried it, but I clicked the option off so it won't take BT links anymore. |

Yeah, I haven't heard any success stories from Shareaza torrents. I use the regular, does what it needs to do. Great speeds.

well i like burst *it seems to be the best one* for me.
the reason is simple. First I download the torrent file to hardrive. Then I open up the burst client. Then the burst client will allow me to choose the folder I want to save my torrent to. After that I make sure to get the information from the tracker for the torrent file. I then see how many seeders are there or whether or not the torrent file is complete. Once I know there are seeders I hit the go button and let it process the torrent file. I usually hide the dos prompt window. All in all I honestly like the burst client. What I like about bittorent is you can also resume the file if you must reboot. Also say if your connection to the internet times out. It usually doesnt happen but it might. I usually see the amount of users you can download and upload too. *not there ip addresses* I like burst. One thing with the burst client you must upload at least 10kbs a second. I leave it unlimited for upload. The point its a nice program. I have tried bt plus plus and I like it to. But I recommend burst because its a feature enrich program and gives more details then the bt ++ client. *note* use whatever you want. I just like something that works good for me. rtws |

I use the "experimental" BitTorrent client, although it does seem to have a memory leak. In addition to that, I use TorrentSpy for info on what I'm d/ling.

bittorrent -
May 15th, 2003, 02:51 PM
I used the official, bt++, shareaza, and burst
Bt++ is to unstable it froze a on my comp when i started dl files. Burst is ok but it had errors finding trackers. Shareaza is to laggy i've decided to get rid of it today it uses to much system resources there isnt anything great about it just features you don't need. The official bittorrent client is simply the best does what it needs, not bugs, small, it a very godd and clean client. KazaaLite...(K++) PTC client(Bittorrent) Emule(plus mod) Packetseek(IRC) |

Shareaza's is trash right now. Horrible garbage unfit for proper use. Those who are using it are polluting the BT network. Test it in all goodness, but first use original or EBTC to see what it SHOULD be like.
I hate to say it, but it's going to be horrible with the new Shareaza people on TorrentSe, like there already are. Look at the Matrix Reloaded comments page. It's full of people asking what a Torrent file is, why it's so small, why it's taking too long to download. Before BT is enabled on Shareaza, people REALLY need to get an understanding of it. Maybe a simple multiple choice quiz... BT++ is a good idea, but needs a lot of work.(Mainly the persistent uploading bug) On DSL, my only choice is EBTC. Nothing against Shareaza, but the public announcement of the beta isn't going to help the BT network. |
