I prefer Spy Bot myself.

If you are stuck on the decision, then why not use both?

http://www.zeropaid.com/bbs/showthre...&threadid=9832 <-- that may help

I used to use Ad-Aware but it took forever and wasn't finding things that I knew were there lurking somewhere. So I tried Spybot and it got rid of the stuff quickly and effectively. Made me happy, so that's what I use.

I have used the SpyBot monitoring tool with good success. It's a Real Time Protection like feature.
