for torrent links: http://bittorrentsites.cjb.net/
for torrent FAQ: http://smiler.no-ip.org/BT/BTFAQ.php

I prefer the experimental client over the standard. It's just as stable and allows you to control bandwidth.

Xmen2 stats right now 700 people are sharing the complete file 3000 more are actively downloading it. Just about anybody can expect to download this file as fast as their connection can allow. http://10mbit.com/suprnova/

When your CPU is maxed out, Bittorrent's reported speed goes way off, I've seen this with Emule also.

My old computer tring to play an Xvid would report some insane speeds. Problem solved..I got a new PC.

I think people are confusing total speed (The available bandwidth from present peers) With downlaod rate, right now mine says 460 some K a second.

That is how much bandwidth IS available if you could pull that much.

I really like Bit Torrent, but it is hard to keep up with whats in circulation and what is a dead seed etc.

And a question for you bit torrent experts, How long does it have to run before max speed is reached? Im only pulling around 9K
for a 1.3 gig file

it all depends who's seeding the bit of the file that you're downloading and their upload speed.

If it's a big 0-day thing (i expect you'd get damn good speeds with an x-men 2 torrent) then you'll get good speeds, generally.

With the speed thing, You're probably looking at the "Total Speed". You want to look at "Download Rate"! Total Speed is the speed you could get if you had an unlimited-speed connection.

Check out BT++. It uses .torrents in an eMule-style interface. You don't need to click a link to open it up now! Very cool.

Ok. U said uve d/led the client. now go to:

http://torrentse.cx/index.php?type=1&sort=download :))

pick a movie that u like (I have sorted them by popularity for ur convenience). then click on the "download" link -- ull d/l a .torrent file. So now, find where u d/led the torrent file and double click it -- ull start dling.
