w00t!! All I need is a $600 video card to play Crysis!! A game made 2 years ago!

Full review of the video card here:

And just in case you want to call BS on the price:

Atleast you can play any other game on 3 30" monitors, monitors set on portrait, running at 5760x1200....with one card.

Seriously, you have a major issue if you see it as a negative that they future proofed a game. If you couldn't scale it down then I can see your issue, but you can so there is nothing to complain about. The models created during game development have a much higher polygon count than the models used in game. Same thing with textures, they are downgraded to work on slower machines. For models they are ran through software that tries to replicate the detail using bump mapping, similar processing is done on textures. What they did with Crysis I assume is give you more options, and higher level of detail possible than other games. You can't run it with all the eye candy not because it isn't optimized, but because they are giving you higher quality graphics. Id software did this when they released Doom 3.

Also, Farcry 2 uses the Dunia engine, a derivative of the original Cryengine, not Cryengine 2, which is used in Crysis. If you take the time to compare the two you will notice that many effects are faked in Farcry 2, while in Crysis they render many effects on the fly. The vegetation, water, lighting is far more dynamic in Crysis.

Seriously, what is so wrong with making a game that has effects too advanced for current hardware if those effects don't need to be turned on?

Here watch this video, it compares the differences in Cryengine 2 to Cryengine 3 which is more or less an optimized cryengine 2 for consoles with faked effects.

AAAAAAAAAAA!!!!! is $7.50. Yes, that is a game title, or not, if you want to get picky about the number of "A's" and their capitalization.

Here's Britney Spears' private jet... The gulf stream 3 doesn't even have a remote control for its surround sound DVD system. Still think downloading music for free isn't a big deal?
