Yeah ... well they had a picture of me... unmistakable. The video showed me rolling through a right turn at a red light at 2 AM. No traffic ... nada... What alerted me to something being wrong was the fact that the night (the whole intersection) lit up with an enormous flash so that the equipment could photograph me IN THE VEHICLE. They had 3 different views on the website.. Incredible...

I just paid the ticket ... now 8 hours of traffic school .... fuck....

There is two products on the market that have a good record of being able side step the strobe flash picture system. One is a clear spray coating that is applied to the license plate it's self.
The spray coating scatters the light of the strobe flash on the plate. The picture of the plate just shows a hazy opaque image that is unreadable. Without a plate number the system can not identify the violator.

The other product is a clear plastic license plate cover that more or less does the samething. It scatters the the light of the strobe making the reading of the plate impossible.
These products though would not be effective against a non flash system.
Both products can be found on the net, and range in price from $25 on up.

Here in the state of Florida is currently set to ban the use of license plate covers starting 07-10.
The anitstobe covers have also been used by drivers on the high speed Sun Pass toll roads in Fl. They have proven to be very effective in obscuring the plates from strobe photographs
I don't know what products were used in the Mythbusters episode, but the most bothersom down here Fl. has been the plate covers that are made from the same material that is used on computer monitor covers.
These screen covers prohibit another person from seeing what is on the monitor unless they are looking straight on the screen.

Because most photograph sysytems take a look down picture with the strobe flash, the plate is unreadable.

I should look into that. You know it's only going to be a matter of time before you get a ticket when you weren't trying to pull anything. Lights can change faster than you think it will, or the traffic stops and you get stranded in the intersection.

For Florida to consider the threat great enough to inact a law prohibiting the the use of license plate covers gives weight to the fact there is something to the product.
Living here in Fl. I can state for a fact that if there is any kind of substanciated evidence that there is a threat to it's revinue, it will take action against it.
I personaly would not use such a product as my luck tends to lead strongly on the bad side.
Also R&R the show Mythbusters is an entertainment program with limited resource and not one that adheres to quantified scientific guidelines.

I didn't know that. I have a smoke cover on my plate but only for aesthetic reasons. I use Sunpass for tolls and such.... it's worth it if you ask me...

Now they have express lanes on the freeway where you can pay a premium .. anywhere from .25 to $1.25 depending on the time and zoom past all traffic. They are even implementing stop lights at the entrance to the freeway (LA style) in order to regulate the flow of traffic. All good things.

I don't mind paying for reasonable stuff like this but if I lived in LA I would be living in fear at each and every light. There is literally no way to fight this "Red Light Ticket System".. $600 and 8 hours of your life is nothing to sneeze at..

True, it is an entertainment program, but their scientific guidelines are quite high from what I've read. I saw the show in question. They had a police officer with them taking the photograph of the vehicles. The demontration was quite convincing. It was episode 73, if you can find it for d/l. Maybe there is new breakthrough in the technology.

I am here to VENT yet again! I am a very ventive person foe sho!


WORK! AT WORK! UGZZZ!!! I requested Thursday off on the 10th of this mouth and the rule is you must give at least 24 hours notice before one can be considered for vacation so I gave plenty of advance notice and WELL with-in the rules stipulations. Furthermore the guidelines say that if one person already has vacation in ones work area it is up to the supervisors discretion whether or not the person requesting can have the day off that is in question. Well, no one was off either so so far all good.

All day long at work I am certain that this is my last day for the week and I am feeling good, other than a slight fight ( argument ) I had with an A- Hole I was working with all was swell. The work load was light this week and I had already got this weeks work finished and was actually working on next weeks orders at the time my boss walks up behind me holding my request form. Now its ONE HOUR and TWENTY MINUTES before QUITTING TIME when my bos has the nerve to tell me that because of a HEAVY workload and a shortage of people, he CAN NOT let me have my holiday, that I have to use before the end of the year FYI or I lose it, and this is SUCH UTTER BULLSHIT I almost lose it and get a pistol and clear the floor of supervisors!!! THATS A JOKE PEOPLE! But I was fired up and very hot tempered as you can imagine. This fuckstick has done this to me several times before and I am the ONLY ONE HE HAS EVER DONE THIS TOO!!!!
