Yeah, I just got a new modem. Then I relaized I wanted to get Linux. So I did buy Linux off eBay. (Mandrake 8.2) and my modems name is:
ActionTec USB 56K CallWaiting modem,
It's purple and gray, and has 3 lights (OH) (DX) and (MR)
and I wanna know if it's compatible with Linux Mandrake 8.2 or not, but I can't seem to find anything from what people are giving m links.
So heres my question, and it's a bit odd, but I was wondering if someone could just find a single web page for me that either says yes, or no this modem is nt supported, or even if they can find me a driver update to make the modem work with Linux Mandrake 8.2 Thank you to anybody who does find this info, cause I really do need it. Thanks to all!

Hi,
Go here ==> http://www.mandrakelinux.com/en/hardware.php3 <==
Then scroll down to those letterboxes where you can select Hardware Category, Distribution, etc.
Then select your modem's manufacturer in the scroll menu next to "Manufacturer:"
Then select "ACTIONTEC".
The supported hardware by this manufacturer will then be listed. Unfortunately, I'm afraid you'll find that your USB modem is not listed, thus not supported. See also this page ==> http://www.actiontec.com/support/modems/cwusbfaq.html#os <== for a bit more info.
