What is pTrack?
pTrack (formerly known as pseudoTrack) is a multi-function utility for FastTrack p2p applications.
What does it cost?
pTrack is completely free of charge and contains no spyware or other hidden elements.
What does it do?
The latest release contains the following features:
PROFILE MANAGEMENT:
pTrack allows you to create any number of individual profiles to use with Kazaa, Grokster or iMesh. Each profile can have different download folders, shared folders and download filters.
DOWNLOAD FOLDER INFORMATION:
pTrack provides a full list of every file in your download folder. Incomplete downloads (dat files) are shown alongside their eventual filename and target download folder. Files can be renamed, moved, copied or opened using menu options from within the program. Completed downloads and files downloading to a different folder are colour coded for easier recognition.
INTELLIGENT DOWNLOAD ACCELERATION:
Fed up with your standard accelerator resuming your paused downloads? The pTrack auto-sourcing component is intelligent - it never restarts your paused or queued downloads, it remembers that you switched it on, and it spreads out re-source requests for each download to avoid flooding the network and wasting your bandwidth.
CLIENT CONTROLS:
Send commands to your FastTrack client to pause ALL download, resume ALL downloads or find more sources for ALL downloads with a single click of the mouse. You can even start and close your FastTrack client.
RULES:
Any number of wildcard filters can be created to move downloaded files into different folders as soon as they are completed. Desktop shortcuts can be automatically created to filtered files. You can now create more advanced rules to perform other functions when certain events are triggered such as low disk space, or a specified time is reached.
TRAY MENU AND TOOLBAR:
pTrack has a handy icon in the system tray. From here you can access the FastTrack client controls, switch the filters on and off, turn the accelerator on and off, show and hide the main pTrack window and start and close your FastTrack client. You can also open your download folder directly from this menu. You can also access these functions from a toolbar which can be placed anywhere on your desktop and is always available for use.
FILE AND FOLDER HASHING:
With a single click, pTrack can export details of your shared files into a web page which includes embedded file hash data. When this page is viewed by another pTrack user they can add your files to their download queue simply by clicking on the filename. Sig2dat quicklinks are also supported. Hashes for one or more files can be copied directly into the Windows clipboard.
(nb: Client controls, intelligent acceleration and immediate hash downloading only function for pure FastTrack clients - not for iMesh)
