WHY is OVERNET so underrated in ZP

I cant understand why OVERNET is so low in the ratings her in ZP. It has proven to be a much superior network than the edonkey. At the same time... I cant really see why eMule is so freakingly jumping high in the chart ! It does have a nice GUI but so what.. It has much poorer average speed, it starts downloads extremely slow ... I am thinking .. those faithful eMule fans ... I dont know they are spamming too much around and i really cant stand the eMule sigs. thats more than dumb. Anyway. i just wanted to express my opinion and figure out how come Ovenet has not climbed up in the ZP's ratings and it is obviously increasing its users.

ratings are useless. Soulseek is low but works the best for me. So don't mind the ratings. Use whatever works for you.

the ratings have been so messed up by the morons who vote all 5s for their one favorite program and then all 1s with comments that show they oviously never used the program, or program politics, or they promote their favorite program by saying dont use this x is better crap that I dont pay attention to the ratings even more.

newer programs have a adventage anyways since the number of votes isnt considered.

Programs work differently for different people. eMule downloads extremely fast for me, while edonkey and overnet won't download anything. On other computers emule doesn't work and others work better.

It all depends on a variety of issues as to whether a program works good on your end or not. So quit your bitching about how overnet is so great and emule sucks. It's all relative, it truly is. This constant debate about how one program just kicks all other programs's asses is stupid.

Overnet isn't half bad from my experiences. I recently switched to eDonkey from eMule as my primary ed2k client, and sometimes I forget to connect to an eDonkey server and end up running with just Overnet, and my downloads seem to run just like normal when doing that. Also, I get packets after disconnecting and closing out of MoGlo, K-Lite, and eMule just as much as I get them from Overnet. As a matter of fact, I actually got kicked offline due to excess packets from eMule. Still, I don't see why the Overnet forums hype their protcol so much amongs themselves. Reading their forums makes me think of walking in on a religious service. They have so much emotional investment in their P2P network. Even people who don't seem to be developers.

Definitely, use what you like and what works best for you. Me persoanlly, I love overnet. I found some stuff on here that I haven't ben able to find anywhere else including fasttrack p2p programs..

it could be because of the low-id thingie, i've tried edonkey and overnet and i've been given low-id all the time, although i've got no problems with it on emule (whic is btw going blooooody slow on my comp)

I despise overnet emule and edonkey with the greatest contempt that can possibly be held by a man.

And the reason why is, i can leave the damned thing running for over 3 weeks straight and not get one file NOT 1.

Even though i have uploaded gigs to those networks, all i ever see (especially with overnet) is files with WELL OVER 500 sources NOT coming in, or coming in at such a pathetic rate it angers me.

I know some have "great luck" with emule overnet and edonkey, but some times i just cannot believe it.

Wish it would work for me, so much great content I cannot get to.

Hell, i have even waited WEEKS for a damned 128 byte cue file before, it is insane.

so many factors have to be taken into account to say one app is bettter than another i used d/l a couple of gigabytes a day on emule/edonkey but since getting a router its much slower so i use somthing else irc but just because i have a problem with emule does not mean other ppl will

in my desperation to get two iso's not curently on kazaa i gave eMule a test... after spending 6 hours trying to evade my lowid (had to fix a lot of router settings) i got a highid, and after about 8 hours connected to emule, my downlaods picked up speed.... i haven't turned emule off since, and that was about 3 weeks ago. that bitch is downloading like crazy and im quite pleased.

my friend tried it and and it fucked his xp system up (he shared some big ass files and the hashing process took SO long some crap got corrupted and what not and the result was he had to reformat).... so that was a bit of a nightmare...

personally emule is ok... i hate the lamers who hate certain programs and show love to other programs... fuck it, use what works for u and uninstall what pissed u off - dont stop other people making a choice because u might be potentially stopping them from using what works for them!

just gotta round off this post by saying, nothing beats kazaa when it comes to download speeds! oh, and i have about 9 different p2p apps installed and running, and i use irc too... pitty i dont have anything to share haha...
