Software for eliminating mp3 clicks & pops?

Does anyone have any recommendations for software that eliminates pops and clicks in mp3s? Thanks for your help.

Well, did you rip these from an LP and you're getting clicks, or did you download them off of kazaa?

If you got it off of kazaa, then either redownload till you find a clean version, or use something else like winmx or shareaza

There is a utility called Deglitcher and EAC also has the ability to clean up some glitches.

I have used them but not often and most times I seek another file.

I kno there a few programs that can remove a fair amount of hisses and pops however I believe these programs also cost a fair amount of money....

I realize that most glitches occur in the ripping process, but do glitches occur from being transfered a bazillion times and having glitches in the process?

Obviously it happens to video sometimes. I've seen quite a few that end up with messed up audio or bad frames etc.

sometimes a file will get corrupted in the transfer, usually it will be the first or last frame that gets messed up and some decoders as well asn burning application will hang or even crash. Winamp is the most forgiving to these problems but you will likely notice them when trying to burn a file.

This utility: mp3trim http://www.logiccell.com/~mp3trim/

is very good for cutting off a bad frame thereby making your sometimes last bit glitch dissappear and mp3 file will read correctly.

You can also normalise the mp3 if it is louder than your other mp3's with this app.

another good application to get is encspot, It will give you details as to what encoder was used and if the file is good or high quality.

get encspot here http://www.logiccell.com/~mp3trim/ it is freeware but seems the guys who were coding it are gone now. So scroll to bottom of the page and click on secondary location. This is a must have utility to help you decipher what is wrong with a mp3
