I actually think it is about making yourself happy. Before you call me a self centered idiot, read on. Making others feel better is all fine and good, but in the end, you do it because it makes you feel good about yourself. You like to feel good don't you? That is what I think the meaning of life is. Meaning of life=procreation.

Humans are just here to pass their chromosomes to their progeny... before this, the meaning of life is to survive in order to become healthy and have viable gametes. After this, their is no point to life. In many cultures the old walk into the forest and die after they rear their young.

This is just from a biological standpoint, but it is the truth for all animals that reproduce sexually. Then again, I use birth control, so does my life as well as my wife's have no meaning? Perhaps...

I think that a better question than this abstract question that just boils down to faith and belief is, "what makes life meaningful?" This is what people are usually asking and it has an answer unlike the question of the meaning of life.

I've heard the meaning of life is sex, but not procreate, that word sounds so ...non-sexish
But what if procreating makes babies happy (because theyre born) therefore, the meaning of life is to make others happy, and to make others- to make happy....

Unless you're a Jehova's Witness. Then being born into this world is a mournful occasion. Either because of the pain and suffering one endures during one's lifetime, or because they think this world is Hell. I don't know much about their beliefs, really. Anyway, that's just one of the kookier, Christianity-rooted, widespread, belief systems I've heard of.

For a larger portion of religious folk, it's just about serving whichever god you serve and making it to whichever afterlife you believe in.

The meaning of life?

Well, my view of the meaning of life is to live life to the fullest and have fun in the process.

I don't know why the lord put me on this earth. I don't even really know what my purpose is (or what anyone's purpose is for that matter), but I take life as it comes. One day at a time, one foot in front of the other.

I know that someday I will go to a better place after my time on earth is through, but until then I will live my life with a relaxed spirit, gentle soul, and calm mind until my life is complete.

Hopefully I can make a positive difference in someone else's life. If I can do that for at least one person, then the purpose of my life will be worthwhile and I can die with a satisfied mind.

it is really a test.
not only the test for survival, but to see how u go about this survival, and if u do it by the standards, in which u have been taught or by what u believe.
because if u can't be true to what u believe.......u r nothing.
and then in the end.......your life becomes nothing.
so make it something.
just do it true.
