Hi, I just got a nastygram from my ISP regarding, um, alleged copyrighted material I was sharing. I'm pretty happy with Comcast's service and would rather not be booted so I've been researching the steps I can take to REDUCE my exposure. What follows is a mish-mash of what I found which I have listed primarily to show that I have done some work but am looking for advice on my particular situation.

I have a dlink router that connects to my ISP and distrubutes my Inet connection.

Options:

-set up MultiProxy software.

-set up my own proxy server and connect to cable modem. Run Inet connection to router to distribute to other computers.

-use ExtraDNS software (opinions???)

Any suggestions on the best options wuld be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Mark

>-set up MultiProxy software
Using other peoples proxys without permission is probably a violation
of the computer crime laws in your jurasdiction. Although you
are unlikly to be prosecuted, personally I don't give people advice
about this.

>-set up my own proxy server and connect to cable modem

??? If your p2p traffic still goes direct from you cable connection
to other p2p users then they still get an ip address which is linked to you.
You would have to set up a proxy server on a computer somewhere else on the
internet, Korea for example.

>-use ExtraDNS software
This appears to be a DNS lookup accelerator. It does not provide any
anonymity.
