I think I saw some application which can convert to mp3. I believe it is called whitetiger.
But best way would be to make a wav file first.
or look for whitetiger. I will post a link if you cannot find it but I don't know it off hand.

glad you were successful, but did you use whitetiger or just convert to wav?

This may sound stupid but how do you convert real audio to wav?

Maybe there's a faster way, but here's how I did it:

Save the streaming file onto your harddrive. You can do this with a download manager. Just copy the shortcut and paste it into the download manager. Then, go get TINRA (Stands for This Is Not Real Anymore). Search for it on Google or something to find it. TINRA will convert all Real files into avi files. Next, extract the audio from the avi file. I used a program called avi2wav to do this. Next, use an encoder such as musicmatch jukebox to convert the wav files to mp3 files (I used dBpower AMP Music Converter. I think version 9a just came out.). All of the software is free.

I would use Blubster but UDP protocol is not working for me anymore. I installed Zone Alarm and then unistalled it and now Blubster and File Spree won't work. I'm running Win98. Anybody know whats wrong. I only had ZA installed for about 5 days and never had a firewall before. I also DON't Have a router.

Any free software out there that converts Realaudio to MP3? The Ripper sounds cool but it costs $25 I think. The trial version only allows 10 conversions and they only only convert half the file. I am trying Whitetiger in the mean time then converter wav to mp3, thanks.

to convert real audio to mp3 convert to wav first using ra2wav ripper (http://ra2wav.hypermart.net/) then convert the wav to mp3 using any one of a number of tools. dBpoweramp (http://www.dbpoweramp.com/) is my favorite. its a great piece of freeware which can convert between many formats. In fact it may be able to do ra - > wav but im not sure about this, which is why i included the link for the ra2wav ripper.

I can think of circumstances at all where I would want to convert RA to MP3. I deal in MP3 only, no stinkin' RA. Is it streaming audio from a paid music site? That frr offer that's happen from Pete "Sledgehammer" Gabriel's company? Bloody waste of money, if I had any money that is.
