I think that i picked these up from an xvid codec download on Kazaa. Has anyone else had these viruses/trojans pop up on them. The only noticeable effect they seem to have is that when I leave my computer alone for a while my # of uploaders is increased to 'unlimited.' As soon as I touch anything on the computer, the uploads return to the previously specified amount. Is there a way to stop this from happening permanently?

i guess i should add that i followed the procedure to remove these viruses according to the symantec website and NAV no longer reports an infection, but Kazaa [lite] is still doing the above mentioned thing.

Why download that codec from kazaa? there are plenty of trusted websites out there...

What you need to do to fix kazaa, is go to the options menu, then under the advanced tab, deselect the box that says "Extra upload bandwidth when computer is idle"

If you want to, sure

I limit mine because I share a connection (only a 128K upload) with 2 other computers, if I leave it at unlimited, they effectively cannot use the internet, its WAAAY too sloooow

So if it slows your surfing, then yes, I would

One thing I've heard from the k-lite.tk forums, is you should limit it to your upload bandwidth, so if you have a 256k connection, limit it to 256k, otherwise it goes over, then has to slow down, then goes over, etc, which slows the upload
