Hey party people!
Does anyone know how to set a auto-response message in WinMX?
I've been receiving a few of 'em lately (unfortunately some when I was responding to them!), and I've hunted high & low for it in the options but just can't find it.
Thanks
BWK

How to set up an Auto-Response message.

Setting up an auto-response message instructs your WinMX client to respond to any received incoming messages. This is useful and good practice as it verifies that the sender's message was received by you.

A popular auto-response message is one stating that you're currently away from the computer, so the message sender is made aware of your absence and doesn't expect a response. Setting up auto-response messages is easy to do...

1. Click the Hotlist button in WinMX.

2. The Hotlist window opens, now click the Hotlist Options button at the top of the Hotlist window.

3. Select Auto Responder, then Add / Remove.

4. The Auto Responders window opens, now click Insert New.

5. Now give the Auto Response message a name, such as 'Away' and click OK.

6. This creates the Auto Response message with the default text of "<Type auto-responder message here>", simply delete this text and type your own message.

7. Once your message has been typed in simply press the X button to exit the Auto Responders window.

8. Now click the Hotlist Options button again, and select Auto Responder, then select your 'Away' message.

WinMX will now respond to any incoming message automatically with your preset Away message!

Note: You can create up to 50 auto response messages like this should you ever need to, and select between them as required.
