nah, I never claim to know anything, I was merely suggesting that wonderful feature called PMing, but who knows if you have it turned off, I dunno

Krell turn off PM's? this site would surely die!

I'd recommend www.newegg.com , fairly decent prices, and its a company you know you can trust, if anything, its a great site to compare hardware, look for price jumps, and read user reviews

Missing Krell? Obviously you haven't been to the coffee machine lately, which seems to be his second home! I just fear the day that the machine runs out of everything but decaf...

no . . .I really meant it . . christ, Im not the repository of all thing technical . . . I thought you had that "inside info"

Besides I still have not PMed him back, since then I have reinstalled two O/S, apps, a few other projects, lots of behind the scenes here, and . . . I went out during the daylight.

im still recovering

I went to Taco Bell earlier, bitched at an Rosario for not going back to school, and told her she could not be the future anchor of Primo Impactor if she didnt go back. I most always order a #5, with jalepenos, and a taco.

Now, I am going to make some yakisoba noodles, and add wasabi ! yummm

There are people here that I have over 70 - 80 - 100 PMs logged.
I try . . .

that's exactly why if I were him, I might be inclined to turn them off, I would dread that F-ing little pop up, but I guess it would kinda be irresponsible now with being a mod and all, oh well, hopefully he has a lifetime stock of Mountain Dew handy

Well im not finished, the results vary from " how the hell can I tell if I am really safe? "

to

"Touch anything in the advanced features and you will never ever get on the internet again, period"

A software firewall should be effective, while still being intuitive, and configurable by non rocket-scientists.

A software firewall also should protect your computer from outside sources, as well as INSIDE vulnerabilities, and "chattiness" about your business to the outside world.

The software should be able to do this, and to filter \ intercept packets, without pulling the rug out from under your system, or hogging resources.

Am I asking tooo much yet?

Since I have about every firewall known to man, and each version of, it not a matter of access but of time.

I will throw together some findings one day . . . .
.
