I hope he is not in the US. They are prosecuting these kind of cases.

Look at this:

I did a whois on his/her ip and DigiLink Internet Services, Inc. owns his/her ip range, so it's possible he's in the US since DigiLink is a US company.
I'm sure she/he's not stupid to leave his ip in the logs though.

me thinks it could be a publicity stunt....hell, she needs all the help she can get imagewise. She is manipulative enough to use P2P to further her goals.

Doesn't she know there are kids on p2p? LOL

She's nothing special. I think this is all part of a publicity stunt to further her advertisement goals. She doesnt make but a dollar on each disk. She makes between $30 to $400 average on each person who attends her concert. She makes more money off of sales of t-shirts that are sold at concerts than she does off of her Cd's.

Basically, she's just another cunt with a gimmic

Since the album is getting downloaded from her own site; does this technically make downloading the album legal?

She deserves whatever she gets; job well done phrack.

The Idiot has admitted to the crime. This idiot must have some thing in common with some of the moron board administrators on this system. They just have no brains. Under US law, if you admit to something, it is called an admission and it is admited under the federal evidence code.

The US government has had numerous convictions based upon people telling others about what they did. Bad decision on part of the hacker.

This is really uncalled for, we do not have moron administrators
here at ZP.

Maybe it is because you are new and want to jump on the bandwagon of problems we have been having.

But you really havent participated long enough for any of those things to effect you directly or indirectly.

BEST regards :)

Actually, Steve15 is just pissed because this recent ES5 hyping has not been welcomed with opens arms by mods.

On the topic, I also agree that all this (maybe even the hacking) has been just one big publicity stunt to sell albums. They do this sort of thing all the time in the music world all the time.

Well said, and till now I've been willing to tolorate his nonsense, not now. This sounds like classic zero pain or galileo, and whether he is or isnt, if he keeps up the crap, I will handle it.

He's pissed now because he doesnt have enough " Law " threads going.

Hmmm, great question. Probably not so much legal as it is unpunishable. However all of these good copies are now out there for all four of her fans to fileshare.

The story is on The Smoking Gun website now.

http://www.thesmokinggun.com/archive/madonnasplash1.html

Days after Madonna took a sharp swipe at music file-sharers, the singer's web site was hacked Saturday (4/19) by an electronic interloper who posted MP3 files of every song from "American Life," the controversial performer's new album, which will be officially released Tuesday. The site, madonna.com, was taken offline shortly after the attack was detected early Saturday morning and remained shut for nearly 15 hours. Below you'll find a screen grab of the hacked Madonna site's front page, which announced, "This is what the fuck I think I'm doing." That is an apparent response to Madonna's move last week to seed peer-to-peer networks like Kazaa with files that appeared to be cuts from her new album. In fact, the purported songs were digital decoys, with frustrated downloaders discovering only a looped tape of the singer asking, "What the fuck do you think you're doing?" Liz Rosenberg, Madonna's spokesperson, told TSG that the defacement was a hack, not some type of stunt or marketing ploy. According to the replacement page, the madonna.com defacement was supposedly "brought to you by the editors of Phrack," an online hacker magazine whose web site notes that it does not "advocate, condone nor participate in any sort of illicit behavior. But we will sit back and watch." In an e-mail exchange, a Phrack representative told TSG, "We have no link with this guy in any way, and we don't even know his identity." The hacked page also contained a derogatory reference to the Digital Millennium Copyright Act, or DMCA, the federal law aimed at cracking down on digital and online piracy. In addition, the defaced page included an impromptu marriage proposal to Morgan Webb, a comely 24-year-old woman who appears on "The Screen Savers," a daily technology show airing on the cable network Tech TV.

Madonna is doing a 20 year special on MTV right now. It is aptly entitled "Madonna On Stage & On The Record." She will be showing the controversial video sometime in the program.
