Sure its possible look here http://www.afterdawn.com/news/archive/3615.cfm I did have my dreamcast playing some DIVX movies but it would locks up 70% of time and now its dead. Its a shame there's alot of homebrew stuff going on with dreamcast

If you burn VCD video files on a regular CD-R you can watch them with a DVD player, no mod chip needed.

For TV you can buy a Computer-to-TV cable, they cost about $15.
Your videocard must have a TV-out then though.

not all dvd players play vcds though mate, and i'd much rather watch on tv through my pc than buy a dvd player, personally.

using a ps2 or xbox is a great idea though, at least they'll have some use left in them when they're no longer played cos there's better things available.

Well....a cheap creative (30 buck maybe 20...lol) capture card should have TV out and work well for basic movie viewing...plus you don't over work your PS2's DVD ROM drive....

And as you may know...the PS2's emotion engine tends to get pretty friggin' hot...

Good call Andy.

This is the card I have set up at work using DVI out into a video projection system.....killer card for CAD/3d animation work as well....and I have noticed it takes a nice load off the system once installed...

But since you own a PS2...and are wondering about all this I'm sure you don't have that kinda cash to drop on a silly video card...lol neither do I...but hey...I had a budget and...well..I maxed it on the projection system I built (for work obviously). : D

CAn someone give me a link where to buy those video out cables. I have a geforce FX 5200 and the s-video wouldn't let me play the Rips on TV. So i would like to get the video out cable.

Believe it or not, there is something faster than UPS, and that would be getting in your car and going to your local Electronics store (BestBuy, Circuit City, Fry's). Instead of waiting 3 days, or overnight, you can get it as soon as you get there. :fire

all you need to know is that you cant use the screen while watvhing the tv.

There is an application which will allow you to use both the TV and the monitor at the same time. It works with most nvidia cards.

There is a similar tool for linux.
