Hey hey !

I highly encourage you to install 9.1 better than 9.0...
If you are newbie to Linux... Well the automatic partitioning included with Mandrake will do a great job for you...

I would say that 3 to 4 GB (total) for linux would make it just fine...

You can share your windows partitions within linux in order to download stuff etc.
if you have any problem PM me ;)

If your gunna make a partition with Partition Magic, Make SURE that it's an ext3 filesystem, else that partition will be totally useless for Linux...

If he has allready installed linux...
But he could perfectly format a FAT32/NTFS partition before installing mandrake and tell diskdrake to entirely use and re-partition/ re-format this new FAT32/NTFS partition.

Aftah the installation and if u install mdk succsefully. Than i suggest u open up x-chat, ksirc or BitchX and go on the irc server irc.xchat.org and the channel #linuxhelp. They helped me out alot when i first was on linux. and even afterwards.
