Hi,
i'm having trouble choosing a mp3 file sharing problem to use. I was using audiogalaxy but since that has died down, i'm looking for an alternative.
Something with good and lots of mp3 sources like audiogalaxy did. So any ideas guys?
thanks.

One word, Blubster. although Blubsters not working for ME right now, I think its a problem on my end. Anyway, I don't recommend getting the new 'unofficial' v2.0. Just get the 1.2.3 version until the Official release.

One word, WinMX.
It simply is the best for finding songs right now. CNET did a fileshareathon, and they fould that WinMX has the most mp3s, second only to Audiogalaxy. I always look for rare songs, and WinMX has gotten EACH AND EVERY ONE of them. Also, with fileswarming, WinMX is incredibly fast when downloading on a broadband connection. ( 150 k/s on average) Trust me, I've been using WinMX for almost 2 years now and it just keeps getting better and better.
However, all wise file sharers know that one should not limit themselves to one piece of software. Thats why I use Limewire 2.4.4 as my backup, which always gets me videos, and since its Gnutella you can find TONS of mp3's. Can't wait for Limewire 2.5, which is beta testing as we speak!.

I like getting on all the different networks. For Gnutella there are a few choices - Shareaza, Xolox, Gnucleus & AquaLime are the best. Then WinMx (their own network of users), Blubster (their own network of users), KazaaLite (FastTrack - their own network of users) or IMesh hacked (FastTrack & their own network), Filetopia (Secure &their own network of users), FreeNet (their own network) & EDonkey (their own network of users). All these programs I've mentioned are SpyWare free. There's also DirectConnect (own network) & SongSpy (own network) which have hacked versions. SongSpy will probably be the next victim of the RIAA because they are centralized.

I think crazy horse has just about everything covered there. It might be worth mentioning that soulseek is good if you're looking for dance music (esp. mixs etc) although it seems to have the same queueing problem as WinMX. I seem to have access to most of the networks you mentioned except Edonkey, would you say that might have stuff that the other networks don't?

eDonkey is good for finding movies and such. I find myself not using it very much lately though.

edonkey from my experience is a little slower than the other applications, but you can get better quality music downloads if you search the various forums and websites like filenexus.com,or check edkguide.com also.
I also think just trying most of the various p2p apps is the best way to find what you need, often when you cannot find something in one you can in another. Imesh and WinMX are the fastest for me. Install them all. The list Crazy Horse gave is just about all worth looking at and they all are compatible with each other, in fact I sometimes run 2 different p2p apps at a time.
