I know this is a little far off from computer stuff but I have one of the first batches of a Sony's Playstation 2 and it's finally starting to act up on me. I was thinking of buying a new one, but returning it back to the store with my old PS2. But to do that I was told I would have to remove the serial number and barcode sticker off the new PS2 and replace the old one with the new barcode. This way the store can scan it properly and not notice that I am returning a different PS2.
A friend of mine has done all this and I wasn't sure, though, on how to get the back off. The barcode sticker on the back doesn't look like it can come off. I was thinking of removing the entire back cover shell and switching the two that way. This way I only have to worry about not breaking the little black seal on the back corner of the PS2, which I can remove by using a hair dryer.
Anyone ever done this or know how to do it properly? Thanks.
