Often when I use auto search more the whole screen flickers periodically (about once a second), even when the windows minimised, search more manually and the problem goes away.
It may be causing Kazaa to loose it's connection as well, and when it's flickering no results are coming up. i'm using windows 98 on an old computer, Do I have to just leave it off?

IMHO either leave it off, or keep Kazaa minimized.
The Search More demands enough of your CPU time and resources, that it interferes with your machines ability to redraw the screen at your current refresh rate.
What can help is to not run other prgrams simultaneously, ensure that you have a high percentage of free resources on bootup, and to minimize Kazaa.
Or get a better system, or video card.
cheers

in my honest opinion.
as for the flickering krell is right but it also has to do with the changing of the supernodes

that's because if kazaa cannot find any sources on the current supernode, it proceeds to connect to another SN and search it. while you 'jump' nodes, you will see kazaa say "connecting..." at the bottom temporarily.

just start using Direct Connect more and then Kazaa will get jealous and start working without a hitch

I always thought it was "In My Humble Opinion". Both seem to fit though.
