Hey guys, whassup ? I'm havin' a problem wit XP Home right now, I can't install anything cuz I can't run any installer files or whatever. It say's that either I'm runnin' windows in Safe Mode or that tha installer files are bad...There's no way every freakin' installer is bad right ? Any help iz appreciated.

How many times have you reinstalled already?
Off the top of my head a buddy had the windows setup program corrupted, ended up having to reinstall windows in a new directory and then clean up all that old crap, hope someone comes up with a better answer than that though.

Well, let's figure out as much as we can here first. Have you ran CHKDSK lately? Go to BIOS to make sure nothing is configured incorrectly.

Is this stuff coming off a CD/CDR?
If so...copy or run the installer off your CDRW drive...even if it's a stamped CD..run it off the CDRW drive. Or copy the files from the CDRW drive to the HD.
Worked for this funky older PC I installed XP Pro on....

Thanx for tha help but tha problem was sum kinda system thing I had disabled in services.msc. It's all good now, thanks :)

Lemme guess, was it "IMAPI CD-Burning COM Service"?
That SOB gave me a bit of trouble along with some guest logon bullshit.
Ah...windows XP....you load to much crap...lol
