If you want the short, no BS approach, get a copy of Aida32. This will tell you what your Motherboard, chipset, etc is, and will give you links to download the latest drivers.
If your chipset drivers are not installed, then you cant get the most from your video card.
Re install the drivers for your mother board, chipset, (SIS 630 etc) your video card, and then the latest Direct X. It will take you an afternoon to do this correctly, but will save you time down the road. Finally, untill you do this, you may as well rub a magic lamp to guess what the problem may be.

Sure np, I want to empower you to try this yourself, before you get 5 different suggestions that have little or no bearing on your root problem. After you go thru with with a bit of detective work, then at least you will have a tool in your hands that provide me with a report to examine. There are 5 reports that I readily want to survey when diagnosing problems for people that will not be otherwise solved.
If you will notice, I didnt ask you any questions, There's a reason for that. After you do your homework, I will explain to you why.

. . . not what "IT" said was wrong, What I said to do. Aida32 is helpful, but it isnt as smart or experienced as I am. If it tells you that you have an Intel 845 chipset, then go to Intel and get the updated chipset drivers, and Application Accelorator. Get the latest nVidia Verto GeForce2 drivers. Also, install Direct X 9.
90% of the time, I am just going to read that Aida32 report, and have to get a person to do the drivers, so cover that base first.
