I have over 600 music artist on my hard drive. When asked what fav album or song i like, i can only think of a few handful. I may need to delete the stuff i dont listen to or play it more. I have tons of trance and dance. Thats what im getting more into. Thats why i cant see buying a cd unless you know your going to like it. Listen to it first to see if its worth the money. I found so many new bands and so many things i missed in the 80's.

CTC Command
December 11th, 2003, 05:50 PM
Yeah, the 80's were kind of a blur...

Good lists, everybody.

I was into a lot of stuff before, and knew about alot of obscure bands and genres because I've listened to college instead of commercial radio for many years now, but P2P has so immensely broadened my musical vistas. Now I walk into most record stores they don't have anyting I'm really into now. Newbury Comics is about the only place worth going to for me anymore, and even they hadn't heard of the Pillows. Go figure.

The end of commercial/retail music as we know it is on the way out. It won't happen tomorrow or even next week, but someday we'll be telling our grandkids how we used to buy music at the record store.

why would u post honest opinions about what u like here u only get burnt in the end lol

not really. if someone tries to flame you for the music your listening to it dont matter, everyone has the right to listen to what they want to, including if others dont agree with it.

i mean musical tastes are different. i like all kinds of music.

i do know that i must say people will state a reason why they might not like the artist, it doesnt mean ultimately that they flame u. i think its about choice and more or less the fact remains that everyone can only be in the mood for a certain type of music at a time.

like right now i am into drum and bass, and others will not like it cuz it do not soothe them or something, and they will say they dont like it. it doesnt make them bad for disagreeing with a gender of music.

people will respect you for having the balls to post what you truely like and believe in.
right now, i will get off topic, i hate the riaa, and i vowed and said i would not listen to the artists music, but i still do, the point is i will not buy said music because the riaa is affiliated with them. other then that let someone say my music suks.

and someone i know did say that they hated an artist i liked, but i let it be, cuz i know them and they are cool, and i know they just was expressing there taste of music.
because sometimes different types of music are not pleasing to others, but if it affects u profoundly then who cares what others think about your choice.
your choice is not wrong, its about individuality that is what music is all about.

peace

These are in no particular order but I will list a few songs that turned me onto the band,

Ministry - Jesus built my hotrod, Just one fix, New World Order, Bad Blood
Mudvayne - Dig, Negative One, Not Falling, Solve Et Cougula
Slipknot - No need to list.
Static-X - I hate this, Get to the gone, I'm with stupid
Rammstien - Du haust, fuier frie (might be mispelled), Mien Tiel (video is wacked but I love it)
Kid Rock - Jackson Mississippi, Only god knows why, picture, american badass and many more
Methods of Meyhem - Metamorphasis
Audioslave - The whle CD
Staind - Too many to list
Puddle of Mudd - Drift and die, she fucking hates me, Dance with the devil (might not be the name off there new cd)
3rd Strike - (Now broken up) no light
Drowning Pool - Tear Away, Bodies and a couple with the new lead singer.
Linkin Park - No need to list
Guns & Roses - Classic Rock A must in anyones collection.
ACDC - Meltdown, Stiff Upper Lip, For those about to rock, highway to hell.
Black Sabbath - Sweet leaf
Ozzy - One of the pioneers of metal everyone knows him love em or hate em he makes good music.
Marylin Manson - New shit, The fight song, Rock is dead, and much more
Otep - Sevas Tra, Blood Pigs Chick can whale on the mic better then some men.
Evanessence - cant think of the song names currently but a few.

I am probably forgetting many many more bands that I like but these are the ones that come to mind currently.

Note, a lot of these bands dont really catch your ear until you listen to them a couple of times its amazing what listening to music more then once will do for you. I dunno but even somtimes a music video even helps to illustrate better in your mind the energy which the music is trying to portray and other times the music videos are just so wacky that you gotta love em. Like Jesus built my hotrod by ministry funny as hell you can barely understand what the guy is saying but yet its a heavy song full of energy and fun to ride around in your car with the stereo on full blast in your transam or older style muscel car it just fits.

Music is awsome and has a big play on the way society is and functions it is an ever sculptiong voice which dose not go unnoticed. I also like all other forms of music as well and rap for those who say it shouldnt be catogorized as music mostley white I say horseshit cut the tuff guy act and listen to a song that your friends dont approve of for once if you enjoy it. Same thing goes for a bunch of blacks in a group man you listen to rock around here we only listen to rap. Tell your buddies I could give a chit less and listen to it because you like it music was not ment for racial devide either. Another band I didnt mention clearly illustrates this called Sevendust there lead singer is kick ass and are considered to be one of the best live bands there is.

Music is a way to connect not seperate into little clicks and every genre of music there is there is a song that you can connect with no matter of age race or gender.
