favorite desktop enhancement/program

what is everyones favorite desktop enhancement or program. ie.....i like object dock but i know there is like stat bar and other programs of sorts. anyways, whats some of ur favorites

I'm liking WinBar and Samurize right about now. Need to get into it more when I have time, but they're pretty good from what I've done with them.

Samurize is a bit difficult for me just because I'm not that artistic and creative, lol.

Statbar is VERY similar to winbar, in fact, the web design layout is similar, and how things are labled/pictured is very similar

I just installed WinBar. I like this damned thing so much; it makes keeping track of things and controlling Winamp so much simpler. Especially since my multimedia keyboard doesn't function all that well with Winamp. It's nice to be able to pause without restoring Winamp from the system tray.

I usually stress over bars and things taking up space, but this is one is actually worth it. Also, it takes up little RAM (about 7 MB) and has no spyware. Me likie.

I would definitely have to say Winbar. Well, I haven't tried any others but I am completely satisfied with Winbar so I don't really need to try the others.

Check out StyleXP if you have XP, makes it looks 100% better.

Simple fix....... you're SOL if you have a shitty card, deal w/ it or buy a new card (this aint to you phalk so don't get all butt-hurt on me, I'm just saying this to everyone in general)


*E* - only saying it 'cuz I been there and now I have "come up" and BTW StyleXP runs great, i'm sure it hinders my system in some way, 'cuz I have come across some very minor glitches, but besides that it is flawless and well worth it

Yeah, I don't know, my vid card is 2 years old and menus are still pretty zippy. Maybe I've just forgotten how nice it is without it. If it's any older than 2 years, you're not gonna have the power to run Windows XP in the first place probably.

samurize is cool. @Rahwgwar - i just keep my background picture the same but have samurize overlay the stuff i want. this includes now playing from WMP9, uptime, time and date, some resource usage meters and that's it. check out the ZP lounge and find the "ermmm show me ur desktop thread" if u wanna see a picture of it.

i use windowblinds rather than stylexp. only because of the bbx theme... i love it soo much. and now WB 4 is a lot better than 3.5

StyleXP looks like windows trying to look like Mac OS X, and that is the LAST thing I want. If it looks like a mac, then it might run like a mac, and that my friends is my worst nightmare.

i know... normally ill keep a theme for 2-3 weeks then change it, but bbx has been my theme ever since i got it 4 mo. ago.

have you heard anything about mmx's upcoming mirakane theme? its said "coming soon on the site forever....

mmicons.com - the site of the creator of the original BBX theme. note: he didnt create the WB theme, it was ported from his mac theme. anyways, that site has 1000+ of the sweetest icons in the world. they are 128x128 and look soo sweet with BBX.
