My ISP is a dial-up and it uses a http and ftp proxy. I use kazaa lite and i know i can get a steady 5kbs and above but i only get 1.7kbs all the time. Why is this. it's really slow. How do i setup kazaa to work with the proxy?

I use the newest cracked kazaa lite and i've had up to 20 sources but no matter what they all hang around 0.33kbs leaving me with 1.7kbs. And if i'm only downloading off 2 people one would be at 1.40kbs the other at 0.20kbs. When i download just off the web i can get 4-5kbs no problem. The phone lines in my area have been updated just last year or so i don't see it being them.

When people download from me they are able to get 1.07 steady each. Is there something wrong with my incomming traffic. Is there a way that it can be blocked or slowed.

Any help or idea or anything would be appriciated.

How fast is your phone line?

My 56k modem was worth crap because all my phoneline would handle was 28.8k (26.4k actual). They call this area Telecom Valley, but for the longest time their equipment out here seemed to date back to WWII - technology-challenged America. It's catching up though - DSL is here now. Maybe one day cellphones will work too.

when d/l off a site ur connection on 56k usually gets maxed. using kazaa ur only connecting to other users like urself so speedsa r generally slower. try right clicking and finding more sources.
