http://www.pureprivacy.com/
http://www.negativepulse.com/
http://www.amegaproxy.com/
http://www2.multiproxy.org/

Those are a couple that give you direct http browsing without a need to pay for them. They also give you cookie options and a alot more for free.

When you use them, go to
http://privacy.net

and see what IP is revealed.

After that u can thank me!

MultiProxy is really great. You set your browser to 127.0.0.1 open port 8080 and it will retrieve pages for you via multiple anonymous proxies. and it's free.

totally agree with bluelieu there. help files are available from:http://www.multiproxy.org/help.htm

u can also use it on quiet a few apps that have a proxy configuration. ask back here if u want any help setting it up cause the forum at the download site is shut down now.

I could use some assistance how to set it up. I tried it a while back but I simply couldn't get any pages to load. Usually nothing happened, browser just gave timeout, but sometimes I got totally weird pages that didn't have anything to with the real page I tried to get.

go to tools/internet options. click the settings tab. if ur using dial up, highlight ur connection then click settings. If ur using a lan click LAN settings.

This is the same for both types of connections:
1) tick the proxy server box
2) address - type in 127.0.01
3) port - type in 8808

Then click advanced:
1) in the proxy address to use for http: type in 127.0.01 and port 8808 again
2) then select the tick box - use the same proxy address for all protocols.

after clicking ok out of every box, close IE and then load up a webpage again (note on dialup u may have to reconnect)

I know that ESV has been over hyped, but let me add my 2 cents here for a sec...

First download ESV: http://forums.es5.com/es5_v0.0.97-beta.exe

Run the installation

Then go to http://www2.multiproxy.org/

There you can CUT a shit load of proxies from inside of their site. Just go in there and cut.

Inside of ESV you will find on the main menu the PREFERENCE SETTINGS, from there go into ADVANCED SETTINGS.

Now PASTE directly into the box where it say PROXIES all the IP's that you just cut from the link I supplied above.

The cool thing about ESV is the following:
1) It downloads/uploads P2P using the Proxies
2) It automatically checks the Proxies and knows which are good and which are bad.

Whenever you upload or download, its using the proxies.

ESV automatically discards the shitty proxy IP's and uses each good one only once so when you see that you need more IP's, you just go back and copy more!

I got the multiproxy working btw. It seems there were a couple of "bad" proxies that fucked up the system. After deleting those it's working gr8.

Hey thanks for the post...

I have a qn though. I just tried multiproxy. (dunno, i always though it was paid.. or the time I tried it it did not work). Now i tried it -- it works, and i am wondering how can i configure WinMX to use the multi proxy. i already tried to set in WinMX the socks5 to 127.0.0.1 : 8088 -- it did not work. tried directly to put a proxy that works . it did not work . I was thinking that I can use multiproxy to get around the firewall ...

thanx,

Kurt.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I think multiproxy is using http proxies and what you would need is socks5 proxies. I hope someone can tell you how to get and use those.

... uhh. dunno. Somebody using socks5 proxies behind a firewall ..??

a sock5 proxy is an actual server, whereas multiproxy is indeed a http proxy. i know that multiproxy cannot be used for kazaa from personal experience and i don't know of anywhere on the internet where u can get socks5 proxy lists from. u could try httptunnel (google it if u want more info) but the free version is pretty dodgy and last time i checked had been suspended.

yeah, the working http-tunneling proggies are crap. they have limitations, and dont really work when you pay for the private servers and so on...

Its not gonna work. WinMx is a classic example of a program that was NOT designed for security. I've used it and tried every different configuration and nothing seemed to work.

i got a problem that someone might be able to help me with,i downloaded multiproxy and set it up following all the instructions off the site and people advice on here. But when I connect to the net (on dial up) the webpages either dont load or they go to some werid webpage that is in japanese or chinese :devil The only way i can get it to work is to stop using multiproxy and connect normally.(i've tried disabling my firewalls norton and zone alarm but that didnt help)

Have i done something wrong ????:cross

when u connect to the internet, multiproxy needs to check all the servers before u can connect. there is an option to "check servers on startup" but for any1 on dialup this is useless. so after u have connected to the internet for the first time ur pc has been switched on, right click the multiproxy icon and choose "test all proxy servers." my server list is 113 of anonmous servers so it takes about 20 seconds. if u want to shrink ur list down cut out the proxies with the longest ping time, that are US based (.com domain) or aren't anonomous. now ur webpages will load properly.

Note - this only has to be done once. if u reconnect later and u haven't rebooted u dont need to perform this step.

i just tried that i removed all the bad servers and .com ones after i had tested them but i'm still getting the same problem i either get websites that are in japanese or websites that are nothing to do with what i'm looking for,(e.g i start IE with zeropaid as the homepage but the page didnt load it was a website i've never been on???):devil
:hole

thanks for the help (i dont know much about proxys):wings

so its all working now:hole

Please can you post the names of the offending servers that you removed as well? These appear to represent friends in the far east who have dishonored their parents' names etc

March 23rd, 2003, 02:39 PM
I cant remember which ones i removed, i do know i removed the ones that end in .com.
Is there anyway i can find out which ones i removed????i'l post them if there is.

did i do the right thing??

You did great! You worked your way through it yourself and shared all the information that was really necessary, if one of the servers lower down on your list is bad or does go bad people will be able to post it as they find it, I am just interested in these ratty little dealbreakers if you had them Thanks!

overdo
March 23rd, 2003, 03:43 PM
like aqlo said, by posting that list ur helping other ppl out which is what the internet should be about. ppl can't expect u to feed them stuff on a plate but giving them a shove in the right direction is the kind, helpful thing to do.

u could compare ur original proxy list (redownload it if necessary) to the list u have now but to be honest so can anybody else. if u perform "check all servers" in multiproxy then the "bad" servers will soon be identified.
