Emule is just Emule..
Emule Plus is a mod of Emule that has more features (or so they say)
More people prefer Emule Plus

IMO neither. there's more queues than winmx, and the speeds are crappier than piolets. and emule lovers don't flame me with the bs you have to know how to use it. cause i configured it and everything, and it still sucked.

Dude.. you have never used Emule (i know that) and you are judging it.. that's what I thought when i first heard about it.. but once you finally realize that all of the best and quality files are on there.. you will use it non stop. It's not for people who can't wait for a download to finish or aren't online for a while.

Indeed, eMule is not a program for those who sit at their computer and stare at the download progress bar until it's finished. I leave eMule Plus running in my system tray for a days, but the files I download on eMule are files that I absolutley couldn't find on any of the speedier networks. In the past, I only used it as a last ditch effort. Lately, I've kept it running non-stop. Because unlike many other networks, your download isn't doomed if one or two people decide to get offline while you're at 50%.
Ok, that's enough rambling from me for now.

what are you talking about? i've tried both emule and emuleplus. you even helped me configure some emuleplus options! and i do have patience, why do you think i leave winmx running all day and just queue all the files i want. come back later in 24 hours and their done.

On winMX you get 2 sources and wait in a huge queue but in 24 hours it has downloaded five bytes and has no sources. with emule you have fifty sources (at least) and in 24 hours you have zero sources because it's done.:mellow

I was using eMule .26b for a while, and I was quite happy with it.
But, I thought about it and decided to try eMulePlus 1b. I like it
as much or better then the regular eMule. I hav'nt had any problems connecting like others have reported, or any other problems with bugs so far. And, unless it's just dumb luck, my
downloads have been faster than they used to be. They have started to download faster, and are reaching good speeds (for
eMule) sooner than usual. I also like the look of the program better than regular eMule. So, IMHO I like eMule Plus better now.

emule plus is very good but the problem with the mods and emule itself is they are not all good. I mean the make so many versions and releases and some just are just buggy.
But I am a emule user almost exclusively. I hated it when I discovered edonkey and I could never get good results.
I will likely go with the new version but have been using emule plus 24b 4Plus lately and I really like it.
One day I found a iso I had to have. I ran it, it went fast and I never turned back. I lucked out and got a file with hundreds of sources that day but it changed my perspective.
You cannot get all the high quality albums anywhere else like you can with emule.
It is the best and if anyone doesn't like it, it just makes me laugh.
plus it keeps the network full of cool smart people who make good rips and high quality releases.

here is a place to find emule mods

read up on the mods at the emule forum

I'd recommend either the latest release of Emule Plus (1b) or .FusioN. (R6).

It's great, as long as you have a stable OS. If you have WinBlows98, you might be in for a little BSOD.

emule is best for large files and for complete high quality albums.
If you like to download one tune at a time use winmx or kazaa.
I myself like to collect complete albums but also download single cuts off the other p2p networks.
each tool has it's own use.

Don't have to worry about fakes on the donkey network either, because 1) you have sites like sharereactor.com, which provide verified links, and 2) almost nobody who uses the network isn't stupid enough to fake stuff.

Well, it is so far not nearly as bad as kazaa but there are many sites that have sig2dat links for kazaa which are verified links just like ed2k links.
I don't know why people don't fake files on edonkey and they do on kazaa but kazaa does tend to attract more noobs and for some reason they like to fake files. I have no idea but whatever floats their boat I guess. But on any network there will be fake files no matter what unless you are downloading off of a server where they hire people to verify files.

I didnt get off que all day but i did manage to get some songs off KaZaA Lite and Ares i just tried gettin a song from eMule plus because I wanted to try the NEW features I had no reason to get a Movie cause thats the only thing I would use the eMule for...

I've never gotten a bad download on eMule, fake or otherwise as long as I've used it. But obviously they do exist because in the Sharereactor forums one of the threads talks about them.
Also, one of the icons in eMule Plus 1b looks like a bug, and
represents the file is fake.
Like the others have said, eMule is not the program to use for
music, unless you're trying to get a complete album. Even then, Kazaa, WinMX, Piolet, etc. are much faster for music. But IMO
you can't beat emule for good quality movies.

They weren't fake files, just certain parts of them (quite literally) were corrupt. It's still possible to get good parts from other sources.

Exactly. Programs and CD-Images too, for backup purposes.

Emule Plus seems to work somewhat better, as long as they keep doing diffs on the network core and keep it in sync.

Actually, I think the lastest release of .FusioN. (R6) is a wee bit faster/better than eMule Plus.

March 24th, 2003, 08:05 AM
I ended up using eMule for now ;)
What about that .Fusion. thing that was mentioned? How do I use it ( I mean the page I found only contained dl's for binary code and source code )? I am not a programmer so...

.FusioN. is just another eMule mod--you use it just like any other. Check out the preferences and configure it to your liking.
I'll admit that the homepage is a little confusing. The binaries are what you're looking for. Go to the downloads section and choose the zipped binaries. Or, follow this link. (http://home.teleos-web.de/whorst/26d_Fusion_Flux_%5BR6%5D-Bin.zip)
